CD Sunday - Popcorn The Bear Romance CD

I am trying to give myself a kick start in trying to carry things on as they were so the CD Sunday Spot returns. This isn't a new card but it is one I haven't shown as yet. Made using Popcorn The Bear Romance CD available from Crafter's Companion.

The technique used for this card is an image transfer using the packing tape method. I have printed the image out and followed instructions for an image transfer using packing tape, my tape wasn't wide enough so I replaced this with a piece of the sticky backed plastic that you can use to cover books.

The backing paper was printed from the CD and I have then randomly stamped with a text stamp. Once my image transfer was ready I have placed it on a piece of the backing paper, you can see the pattern of the paper and the text coming through the translucent image. This in turn has been layered up onto a contrasting card stock and mounted 3D over a card base trimmed with the same stamped backing paper, a piece of organza fabric and daisies. Further flower, die cut leaves, gem and text embellishments have been added.

My Dad - My Hero

My Dad's Funeral takes place today so as I will be thinking of him all day I thought I would share the card I made to go with him. There is a poem inside.

I thought of you with love today
but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday
and days before that too,
I think of you in silence
I often speak your name
All I have are memories
and your picture in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake
with which I’ll never part
God has you in His keeping
I have you in my heart.

The Poem is taken from this site Verses 4 Cards.

Take care.

Popcorn The Bear - Be Mine

Card number 12 in the Popcorn The Bear Romance DT cards. Made using an image of Soufflé from the Popcorn The Bear Romance 'Just Because' set of stamps available from Crafter's Companion.

I have trimmed the bottom of the base card with a decorative edge Martha Stewart punch and placed a contrasting white card behind it. Embellished with satin ribbon and Dew Drops.

Popcorn Romance - With Love

Today I share a card made with this cute little image of Soufflé from the Popcorn The Bear Romance 'Just Because' set of stamps now available from Crafter's Companion. This little chick has been stamped onto a Nestie die cut shape and water coloured. Layered onto Cuttlebug embossing and embellished with a stamped vellum greeting, brads, pearls and satin ribbon.

I have set the blog to post one of these DT cards each day for the next 13 days. I just don't feel like making anything at the moment. The only card I am thinking about is a special one containing a letter that I want to take to the Chapel of Rest, to go with my Dad. I am having a hard day today.

Popcorn The Bear Romance DT Work!

With everything that has happened I completely forgot about the launch of Popcorn the Bear Romance CD and four new stamp sets yesterday. After recently joining the Crafter's Companion team I was lucky enough to work with these gorgeous new stamps and I am beginning to share the DT work made for them.

The two cards I share today uses the Special Couple stamp set. The card above is a very simple card, the image is water coloured and sprayed lightly with the Gold Spray & Sparkle. Mounted over various layers of card and embellished with a pink satin ribbon.

This card uses another two stamps from the same set - I have used a small group of hearts to stamp tone on tone for the base card and my main image is Popcorn's pal Soufflé. Once again the image has been water coloured and the edges of the Nestie I have stamped him onto have been sponged with a dye ink. He makes a wonderful Anniversary card! Embellished with flowers, pearls, card candy and a text ribbon.

I have set my blog to auto publish for the next few days, showing more of the DT work for this wonderful new addition to the Popcorn collection.

I would just like to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their concern, support and all the private messages received over the last couple of days, it means a great deal to me.

My Dearest Dad

No cards today. Yesterday I lost my Dear Dad and I wanted to put something on here about him. This is a pic of him holding me at my Christening many years ago.

At Christmas I received a calendar from my Mum that she had made with various photos of the family for all the different months. I spent more time looking at this than anything else I received on the day. When I saw the December pic it made me smile - my Dad could have a twinkly mischievous look and I think this captures it perfectly all these years later.

You can shed tears that he is gone

Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him

Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he is gone

Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back

Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Love and remember you always Dad.

Extra Quick Birthday Card

I needed to pull the stops out yesterday and make a Birthday card in hurry!! I always find Black and White a good colour combo to work with when this happens! I have also added a bit of silver grey to the mix.

No stamping just some flowers as the main focus and a silver peel-off Birthday greeting - you see I had to rustle it up as I was making a coffee! That will teach me!
