The challenge this week, over at DU2DS is 'Distressing'! For my card I have used a beautiful Butterfly image from the Sketching Stamper. My image is coloured with ProMarkers and is raised up with silicone glue. All my paper layers in the background have been distressed with a matching purple ink and the stamped antique cracking piece has also had the edges distressed with a distressing tool. The butterfly is embellished with pearls and the card is embellished with pearls, satin ribbon and a ribbon slide.

Technique Thursday Spot - Faux Postage
I love playing around with different Techniques when I have some me time and I have decided to cover a different technique each week with some pics and information where possible.
This week I have covered the Faux Postage Technique. To start off I have printed off a page of Faux Postage Templates. If you google there are lots of them - I have used the Splitcoast Stamper template and if you follow the link you will find a downloadable template and another set of instructions.
I have used two of the templates from the page cutting out the inner sections of each stamp from one, to use as a mask. You can do this onto acetate but I always end up loosing the acetate mask and having to start again so you get 4 FP templates on your printed page I use them up instead.I have then taped my mask in position over my template with low tack tape.
I have then added colour to each section. There are a number of ways of adding your colour. You can use chalks, use a sponge applicator and ink pads, I have coloured mine with ProMarkers.
I have used a third template cutting out the inner rectangle of only one of the stamp rectangles so that I can move it around using it to mask off the other areas as I stamp my images. I stamp randomly and move the image around in the available space.
This is what it looks like when I have finished stamping - now I am ready to add colour to the image. I have continued to add colour with ProMarkers - the choice is yours, use whatever you have in your stash.
Here are the images coloured - now I can trim around the edge and layer onto card.
Now it is up to you how you use your Faux Postage topper on your card.
Thanks for the visit today - another technique covered next Thursday!

Stamp Addicts Christmas Number 8!
This is the last of the cards that I made with the Judikins Christmas stamp that Stamp Addicts sent me to play with.
The image is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Judikins Copper Twinkle Embossing Powder. I have then coloured in parts of the image with a Versamark Pen, adding Lime and Cherry Twinkle Embossing powders to the image and heat embossing. Mounted onto a background of Cuttlebug embossed card and embellished with brads.
*******Tomorrow I am beginning a new idea - I am having Technique Thursday Spot whereby I will cover a different technique each week with various links and instructions. I will begin tomorrow with the Faux Postage Technique, so if you are interested in that one pop back tomorrow! ******

Parrot Fashion!
Today's card is a bespoke card and also my card for the My Time To Craft Challenge of Floral Frenzy. Not so much of a frenzy but the flowers are there along with these two very handsome looking Parrots that I was asked to feature on the card.
I printed the images out onto shiny paper and popped them through the Wizard using one of the square Nestabilities. They are layered onto a topper that I have laced with satin ribbon and mounted onto a matching background. Embellished with flowers and die cut leaves.

Cute the centres out, added Peel Off letters to spell the word Joy. These were then mounted onto pearlised card and raised with 3D foam pads over a background of matching patterned papers. Embellished with a copper coloured satin ribbon.

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp!
Well - if it isn't one thing it's another! I have had Internet problems for weeks and then yesterday my computer died on me. My postings may be a bit haphazard over the next few days while I am getting things back to normal - it will be days of work before things will be as they were.
This is my card for the Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge - which is a sketch this week. I have used an image from Sandra Dry Digi Stamps and coloured with ProMarkers. Emebllished with satin ribbon, hearts and flowers.

Christmas Card Number 5!
This is the fifth card made using the Judikins Christmas stamp that will be on the new Stamp Addicts Show towards the end of the month on Create & Craft TV.
A bit of recycling going on with this Christmas card - the background and the image were made by using pieces of an old brown paper bag that was a bit crumpled up. I have embossed the background using the Judikins Cherry Twinkle Embossing Powder abstractly - by swiping a Versamark ink pad randomly over the paper and then adding the powder. The image was stamped using the Versamark pad and the Judikins Lime Twinkle Embossing Powder was used. Matted and layered onto gold pearlised card. Gives a real shabby, old feel to the card. Embellished with red satin ribbon.

Daisy May - Three Of A Kind!

The Daisy May Challenge today is to have three of something the same on your card. I decided to go the embellishment route and I have three lengths of satin ribbon on my card along with three punched leaf branches behind the flower.
I have used an image of Daisy in her Party Dress from Sheet 24. The image is coloured with ProMarkers.
Do check the site out - you don't have to use a Daisy May image for the challenge and if you would like to try one Linnie is very kindly providing a free download of Daisy with her skipping rope.

Colour Create - Grassy Green, Apple Green, Sunflower Yellow, Lemon & White!
The latest Colour Create Challenge was to use the colours Grassy Green, Apple Green, Sunflower Yellow, Lemon & White on a card, just love colour challenges so I had to have a go but had no time for the extra challenge this week to decorate the inside of the card.
I have used a butterfly stamp from a Technique Tuesday set of stamps called 'Boho Buzz'. A lovely little set of clear stamps that I had bought and mislaid!! Found them yesterday when looking for something else lol! I have stamped them randomly onto a white card base using black Versafine and clear embossed, a text background stamp from Rubbadubbadoo has also been stamped randomly around the page. Two separate butterflies were stamped onto pieces of card and cut out. The images are coloured with Promarkers. Masking the butterflies off I have added colour to the background with dye inks and sponges. The two Butterflies have been shaped and mounted 3D over the background piece. Layered onto white & black and mounted onto a green card base. Embellished with lace, satin ribbon, pearls and photo corners.

Stamp Addicts New Christmas Show!
Stamp Addicts have a new Christmas show coming up on C & C at the end of July. I was sent one of the stamps to play with along with some fab products. This is a card made using the Judikins stamp along with a Judikins Copper Twinkle Embossing Powder. The background is made using a piece of an old brown paper bag, crumpled up, smoothed out and then embossed using a Versamark pad and the same Copper Twinkle Embossing Powder.
The stamp lends itself to be raised up in layers like a medalion stamp and I have this one raised up to four layers with dimensionals. The centre square has been embossed with the Judikins Copper Twinkle embossing powder. Embellished with a matching satin ribbon.
More examples and ideas using this stamp will be shared in the days to come!

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Embossed Challenge!

I have added gold stickles for the shoe embellishment for added dimension. Coloured with Pro Markers and embellished with a satin ribbon bow and pearls.
This post has taken forever to upload - I have been without broadband now for a week and dial up just keeps kicking me off in the middle of things. No email, no browsing your blogs - I am about ready to cry! You don't realise how much you rely on the internet until you haven't got it!

Warhol Style Canvas

The Tanda Teaser Challenge this week is 'Iconic Images'! This is a canvas piece I made previously. My Pop Art Marilyn was just a bit of fun, messy art stuff with a Warhol influence! Very satisfying to make as I remember getting in a right old mess with it. Acrylic paints were used on the canvas for colour. Images were stamped iwth black acrylic paint and mesh has been added in places. I have a collection of Marilyn images and I have popped her onto different coloured backgrounds in Warhol style.
