Technique Thursday Spot - Beaded Nestie Apertures!

For the Technique Thursday Spot this week I am sharing a Technique I am using for a batch of Christmas cards this year - Beaded Nestie Apertures. This is also my card for The Daring Card Makers Challenge this week - I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas'!

I bagan by sorting out the size of my card base and the shape of my aperture. I am using the Rectangle Nesites for my card and I have decided to have my aperture raised up a level with a contrasting card mat underneath instead of directly onto the card base. I have positioned my rectangle nestie on my card piece roughly in the centre and proceeded to cut and emboss. Put the embossed rectangle to one side for later.

I decided that I wanted the frame the aperture - I have first cut the same sized scalloped rectangle nestie die and then I have placed the die I used for the aperture centrally on this cut out and cut again for a very fine trim. You can have a wider trim by using different sized nestabilities.

The trim is attached to the front of the aperture with a glue pen.

On the piece that came from the inside of my original aperture I have stamp a Christmas Greeting using a Judikins stamp and matching bottle green dye ink.

I have added some embossed snowy dots to the aperture piece using my crop-o-dile.

Next thread some beads onto a couple of lengths of jewellery wire or chord and attached them to the inside of the aperture card piece. Attach to a contrasting layer with the stamped greeting postioned in the centre of the aperture, it looks nice of the aperture trim and the matting card layer is the same. Attach to your card base and embellish.

For variations you can tie ribbons onto the aperture before attaching to the card base or stamp some detail on this layer instead of embossing.

Thanks for the visit today.
