Love Birds!!

The Dottie's World Challenge on Sunday was to use Animals on your card and today a new collection was released - Dottie & George Love & Marriage! I decided to use this love bird image of Dottie & George for my card. Papers are K & Co and they have been stitched onto the base card. I used the pre coloured image as I was short of time today and embellished with a glittery daisy from Flora Doodle and two sparkly gem hearts. There are some really useful images in this collection - great for Weddings, Anniversary, Congratulations and New Baby - you can check them out here!

I was also lucky enough to be featured a second time on the Customer Thursday slot today - thankyou so much!!

My Time To Craft - Black, White and Red!

The challenge of My Time To Craft this week was to use the colours Black, White and Red on a card! This has to be one of my favourite colour combos and I have been waiting for a chance to use this image from the Joanna Sheen Dancing With Shadows CD!. The backing paper is also from the CD. Embellished with Red stain ribbon and a 'Just for you' greeting.

Country Cottage Card

A card made for a friend using a picture from the Joanna Sheen Card Maker's Year CD - a country cottage from the May images. Backing paper is from the Cute Companions CD. I made this a couple of days ago when I last got my machine out so there is a lot of stitching on the card and very little glue! It should be winging its way to the recipient as we speak!!

Card Makers Year Summer Card

Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has left me an ward over the last few days - I really appreciate you thinking of me! I have just been flat out over the last few days getting some design work for the next Stamp Addicts TV show finished and ready to post. With this job done and dusted I will endeavour to post about the awards in the next couple of days. Please forgive my tardiness!

The challenge this week on the Joanna Sheen Forum was to make a card to the theme of 'Indian Summer'. I have been itching to use this lovely image from the August images on the Joanna Sheen Card Maker's Year CD. Well that was the Summer image so I printed off some paper from my Artylicious Damask CD in a colour way that matched the image and warmed things up somewhat! Embellished with a prima, brad, satin ribbon and ric-rac to enhance the fabric look of the printed paper. The laugh and be happy sentiment is from Printworks and I thought this went with the innocence of the image.

Background papers are Kay & Co and I have fetched my little Mini sewing machine out to do a bit of stitching on this card! I have the Janome Mini and it is a little gem! The extra images are just a couple of unknown unmounted stamps bought in a grab bag and the flower is Prima with a flower brad centre.

Get Better Soon!

I needed a 'Get Well' card and over on Dottie's World the challenge is to use some papers in the 'don't like' or 'never use' pile. Some people would like this paper but I don't do circles. I love small dots and spots but lots of different colour circles and it isn't one of my favourite things to use! I used the Get Better Soon Dottie image from Dottie at Home. The image is coloured with pens and water colours.

Miss You Floral

This card is made with a couple of challenges in mind. The Tanda Teaser last week was to make a Miss You card for friends we hadn't seen for a while and on the Joanna Sheen Forum we were challenged to use something we hadn't used before or use something in a different way. My card uses a Sprinkle & Sparkle stamp that I bought from the JS shop some time ago and had not used until now. The yellow sticky backed pearls are a recent purchase from the JS shop that I thought I would also use today and the white and lemon lace is also new. The image has been coloured with pens and the centres have been glittered. Embellished with paper frills and satin ribbon.

Background paper is Papermania and I have used a paper frill along the bottom of the card embellished with pink pearls.

Card for a Sparky!

The Arty Girlz Challenge this week was 'cards for men'. I needed to make a card for a 'Sparky' so this is what I came up with. The images are from the Card Toonz Professional Nuttiness CD bought from Joanna Sheen - I use this often as one of the most popular requests for men are cards with a reference to their job of work!

A Goth Card For A Teenager!

I made this for a friend's daughter and it ties in perfectly with the Papertake Weekly Challenge this week - 'Teenage Kicks'. My main image is Gothic Dottie a downloadable image from Charmed Cards & Crafts. The background is made up using polka dot paper from DCWV, black and red card, die cut flower and gem, black lace and a black satin ribbon bow. The red card stock and the flower die cut have been stamped with a mesh stamp using black versafine ink. These images are such good fun to use!

Midsummer Night's Dream

This is my card for the weekly challenge on the Joanna Sheen Forum. The theme was 'Midsummer Night's Dream' I have used an image from the JS Victorian Angels and Fairies CD and I have distressed, coloured and glittered the edges. The background has been sponged with inks and I have then sprayed with white webbing spray. While the webbing spray is still wet I have added silver sparkle embossing powder and heat embossed. The topper is mounted over the background piece with 3d foam pads and I have cut out extra images of the flower in various sizes, glittered the centres and mounted with silicone glue along with a stamped 'Dream' text topper. Flower gems embellish the corners.

Little cars, lorries and tractors going across the base card coloured with Marvy Wet Looks and clear embossed. Underneath I pop some random shapes of card in similar colours to the images with a piece of velum over the top stamped with Happy Birthday or personalised. A very simple card to make.

Vegas George!

I managed some time just to do what I wanted yesterday so I wandered over to see what the challenge was on Dottie's World. The challenge was to use Rhinestones, ribbons and have something raised on your card. I had to use Vegas George from the new Dottie & George Rock and Roll collection. You just have to check these downloads out - there is a Goth Dottie, a Punk George, Biker George, Drummer George to name but a few. They are just fabulous and if you want to have a peek click HERE!

I have used the coloured image of Vegas George and added some rhinestones to his outfit. The front of the card is made like a stage with ribbon bows on the curtains and the pelmet and george are raised on 3D foam pads. More rhinestones were added to the curtain pelemt.

Distressed and Grungy Tilda!

The weekly challenge on Tilda & Co was to make a distressed and grungy card. I have chosen the image of Tilda with her bandages on for this card. The papers are K & Co, I have added a pink acrylic paint washto the papers, sanded this off a bit with sandpaper and then stamped an Elusive Image Damask stamp on top of this in places. The edges have been distressed and torn and I have added some ribbon, eyelets, flowers and pearls to embellish. I have added some white rings using various lids and white acrylic paint.

Cork, Twinkling H20's and Floral Fantasy!

The challenge this week on the Joanna Sheen Forum was to use some Cork on your card. I had recently purchased some cork sheets from the JS shop and I decided to use an image from the JS Floral Fantasy CD with it. I cut the centre of the frame out and replaced it with a sheet of cork. I then cut the flower from the centre that I had previously put to one side, plus two more images and decoupaged the flower. The flower had been coated in a gloss varnish first, the frame had also been varnished and edged with gold Kyrlon pen. The background is a piece of glossy card stock coloured with a Twinkling H20 wash. Once dry I stamped onto the card using the same colour of Twinkling H20 and an Elusive Image Damask stamp. The Framed flower is mounted 3D over this background piece and embellished with a satin bow.

A Cute Waterfall

A Waterfall card made using the Rocky-a-Bye Baby stamp from Printworks available from Stamp Addicts. Waterfall cards are fun cards to receive and for this card I have stamped
part of the image onto squares, coloured them with pens and matted and layered onto the waterfall mechanism. This then popped onto a card base decorated with a piece of co-ordinating patterned paper. A piece of satin ribbon is held in place with a brad for the pull.

When pulled a greeting of 'for you' is revealed in a stamped frame - also Printworks stamps.

Tilda & Freinds - Pearls

The Tilda & Friends challenge this week was to use pearls or something with a pearly sheen on your ATC. I made this ATC using this fab image of Tilda lying on the grass and popped some sticky backed pearls on her cardigan for buttons. Coloured with pens and inks. I use a lot of the sticky backed gems and pearls and am always on the lookout for a good supplier - I have got most of mine recently from the Joanna Sheen shop as there are a number of colours available on there.

My Time To Craft - Numbers!

The My Time To Craft Challenge this week was 'Numbers'. I have stuff going on at the moment that seriously limits my crafting time so this was another quickie! I have used the Number Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and I have added chalk inks to the folder before inserting my card to emboss. The images are from the Card Toonz Professional Nuttyness CD by Andy Carolan. The CD is available from Joanna Sheen and is full of cartoon images for loads of professions. This was the Baker image and I have modified it slightly to suit my card. The cherries on the cakes are diamond glazed and the greeting is computer generated. I have added some faux stitching detail to the greeting stip and around the cuttlebug square.

Tilda & Friends - A Little Memo Holder.

The Tilda & Co Challenge this week was called 'Thinking of Others' and we were asked to make a little gift for someone using some of the bits and pieces that Donna had kindly sent us as a Thank You. For a number of reasons I was very short of time this week but I have managed to make a little Memo Block Holder using my Gramps stamp, patterned paper and ribbon that I received in my Thank You bag.

This is the memo holder open with the memo block in the centre and patterned papers to decorate. I have seen these holders on Maria's blog Here for anyone who is interested!

Here I am Again!

Another couple of cards using the 'Love Blooms' and 'Here I am' Printworks stamps from Stamp Addicts. This is a simple gatefold card using some lovely K & Co papers. Smudged all the edges of the patterned papers with distress inks and the image has been water coloured also using distress inks.

This is the inside of the card where I have used the text stamp. The main image is on diamond shaped matting and layering and is held closed with a gold photo anchor.

This is one of those cute little triangle fold cards. The images has been water coloured with Lyra wax crayons and once again I have used K & Co papers. when undone the inside reveals matching paper and the Love Blooms text. Tied with Brown satin ribbon.
