Monotone Tilda Tag

A double whammy - this is for the Tag You're It challenge to use a slide mount on your tag. Also for Rainbow Lady's challenge to use monotones of a rainbow colour. I chose to use green only because I had a quick look in my bit box and there were a lot of green pieces near the top. A little cheat as I have used a person on the tag and I wasn't about to give her a green face and hair!! have embossed with a couple of solid flower stamps from Stamp in the Hand and Denami using StamponInn Spring Leaves embossing powder on the tag and the slide mount. The image is a Tilda Magnolia stamp and she has been coloured with Copics. Embellished with a Flora Doodle fabric flower and green satin ribbon.

Tanda Teaser - Yeee Haa!

The challenge over on the Tanda Teaser this week is called 'Yeee Haa'. We want to see cards with a Wild West feel to them - Cowboys, Indians, Line Dancing, Saloon Girls, Cacti, Horses, Saddles, Cowboy hats or boots, a Sherrif's Badge or even just stars and stripes. Your interpretation of the theme, whatever it is - it could even be Will Smith!

For my card I have used the Bucking Broncho stamp from Tanda Stamp Cowboys Set 2 along with the crackle stamp from Backgrounds Set 2. I have tried to use what I have learnt from doing two of Michelle's Zindorf's tutorials and put it into my own work, colouring the image with inks and sponges. This pic is a little dark and I will try to take another once my Camera has recharged. Still a lot to learn but I am looking at images differently than I was a couple of days ago.

Wednesday Stamper - Insects

The Wednesday Stamper challenge this week was 'Insects'. For this card I have been having a go at another tutorial, the Dance of the Dragonfly tutorial on Michelle Zindorf's blog. Once again different stamps, different colour inks and card finished differently with the side ribbon embellishment. I need to get my self a decent brayer - think I need a Speedball.

Tanda Teaser - Read All About It!

The Tanda Teaser set on Wednesday by Sheila was called - 'Read All About It'. Sheila said:-

What I would like you to do this week is make a card using print of some kind. It could be old book pages, newsprint, magazine pages etc.

My Mum sent up some bits and pieces a while ago and amongst them were some old Music scores and books. I have ripped a sheet from one of the books and distressed the edges with inks for my background piece. I then used an image from the Tanda Stamp Vintage Wedding set and added a little colour to the image and edges. This has simply been mounted on the card embellished with some very old lace trimming, a flower and a fancy corner.

My Time To Craft Challenge - Babies!

The My Time To Craft Challenge this week has the theme of 'Babies'! I have used a newly bought stamp of Tingla to make my card. The rest of the card came from my bit box with odd scraps of paper and pearlescent card, adding colour to the image with pens and pencils. Embellished with satin ribbon, gems and Rubbadubbadoo text stamps.

Arty Girlz - Handmade Backgrounds

The Arty Girlz challenge last Tuesday was 'Handmade Backgrounds'. I decided to have a go at doing something different and followed a Tutorial by Michelle Zindorf for the Landscape Floral card. I didn't have the same colour inks or card and my vase and flowers are different. I have also finished my card differently but you can see that I followed the Tutorial and had such good fun doing it! I love Michelle's style of stamping and her use of colour and will have a go at a few more of her Tutorials in the future. Do check the link out to her Tutorial Blog to see what I am talking about. I feel it meets the challenge as I started with plain card and created everything with stamps and ink and sponges.

Tilda & Co Challenge - Rub-a-dub-dub!

The Tilda & Co Challenge this week was called 'Eye, eye - it's a natural feeling'. To use eyelets and something natural on your card. I have embellished with eyelets and as I was using the image of Tilda in the tub I added a small piece of natural sea sponge to the card. The image has been water coloured, papers are Sizzlets, I have threaded a ribbon embellishment up one side and I had some duck stickers that came in handy too!

There is a bit of a fun competition between the Design Team this week and you can vote for the card you want on the side bar if you follow the link above. One of us will win some stamped images and there are some great examples to choose from!

A Tripple Whammy

This is a triple whammy card! Cute Card Thursday's theme was 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun', Daring Card Makers theme was 'Distressed' and Saturday Workout's theme was 'Embossed'. I was lucky enough to receive some of these Hanglar images in the post from a very nice lady so I used one of those. The image is coloured with Copics, papers are Dovecraft and there is an amount of Cuttlebug embossing with edges distressed with inks.

Daring Card Makers - Copper

The Daring Card Makers are doing something new for the mid week dares - I am a little late but I particularly wanted to be in at the start! This is what the DCM blog said:-

We are introducing a new series to our little mid week dares, based around traditional and anniversary gift themes to inspire a design. We are not necessarily looking for an anniversary card (although obviously that’s allowed :) the card can be for any occasion but it should be inspired by the gift theme of the chosen year.

This week the selected year was 7th.

We’d like you to make a card inspired by the Traditional or Modern gift theme
for a 7th Anniversary, which is……

'Wool or Copper'

I decided to go with Copper. For my card I have used Tanda Stamps Klimt Set 1 along with Copper acrylic paint, cream card, gold mirri card, copper embossing powder plus gold and copper glimmer mists.

Today's share is my card for the MY Time To Craft Challenge this week. The challenge theme was 'Tutti Fruitti'! I have used a blackberry stamp from Anitas, which has been water coloured. Tanda teaser - Straight as a die!

A card for two challenges - Tanda Teaser 'Straight as a die' and Papertake weekly 'All that glitters'. I hope this is OK but I pinched an idea from a card I saw Sheila Oliver demo some time ago, except that I tried to keep my candles in a straight row for the challenge she set on Tanda! The candles have been glittered with an ice blue glitter for the Papertake weekly challenge.

It is also Sheila's Birthday today so I would like to wish her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

You need to get yourself over the the challenge blog and join in this week for a chance to WIN a fantastic set of rubber stamps from TANDA stamps!

Papertake Weekly - Making Waves!

The Papertake Weekly challenge this week was called - 'Making Waves'. The challenge called for you to use scallops or zigzags on your card or both! The bra and pants have been made by colouring a piece of white card with inks and overstamping with a Stampin' Up swirl stamp. These pieces have then been decorated with this scalloped lace. A flower has been added to the centre of the bra. I have popped a jewel in for a pierced belly button and also made a necklace with ribbon and a silver heart charm.

Sincere Appreciation!

I would like to thank three people who in the last few days has given me this award. Wendy from Pixie Days, Ann from Spirit of Creativity and Beryl from Beryl's Place. Thank you ladies - I am always touched that someone can think of me for these awards.

I also received this award from Anne from Tranquillity. Once again thank you so much for thinking of me!

I have been looking around and so many blogs that I visit already have these awards so all I can do is say that I would direct them straight back to those who sent them to me. Also all the blogs I visit are very inspiring! So if you are passing and want to pick one of these awards up then please do!
