Cute Card Thursday - People

When I saw the challenge for Cute Card Thursday was 'people' I thought of this newly acquired unmounted stamp and made a very quick card with it. Image has been water coloured and I have aged all the layers with an ink pad. Embellished with a Flora Doodle flower and some pink satin ribbon. The Flora Doodle flowers are available from Joanna Sheen and she has a fabulous range of colours!

Daring Card Makers - Pins & Needles

Another quick share before I turn in for the night. My card for the Daring Card Makers dare to use pins or needles on your cards. I have used Kay & Co patterned papers and smudged the edges up with a brown chalk ink. The centre piece is a Rubbadubbadoo text stamp in the same brown chalk ink. The image is a stamp from Creative Stamping that has been water coloured. Embellished with a piece of lace held on with a safety pin, a decorative corner and gems in the centre of the flowers on the hat.

Tilda & Co Challenge - Mix & Match!

The Tilda & Co Challenge this week was a lot of fun! The challenge was called 'Mix & Match' and basically wanted you to create a completely new image by mixing two magnolia images together. For my card I took the body of Edwin Footballer with a Tilda face to make my new 'Tomboy Tilda' image. I thought she could be called Edwina or 'Eddie' for short! I still wanted the card to be a bit feminine so I used lots of pink - the background has been made with ink pads and the image has been coloured with Copic Markers and pencils. The Girl power text, once printed has been embossed with the mesh Cuttlebug folder. I have embellished with a die cut corner, ribbon and a prima flower.

Wednesday Stamper - Purple

The Wednesday Stamper challenge this week was - 'Purple'. I dug out my Hydrangea stamp by Rubber Stampeded, stamped and coloured the image with water colour and pencils. The background paper was plain purple. I have stamped a swirl stamp from Stampin' Up in versamark all over the paper and embossed with a purple embossing powder. It made the paper look quite expensive! Embellished with a best wishes file tab, purple cord, silver charm and a photo corner.

Sunday Stampers - Party Hats

The Sunday Stamper Challenge this week was to include party hats on your card. I have used this Stampin' Up stamp with a couple of monsters in their party hats having a ball! The image has been coloured with water colour pencils. Matted and layered onto various card stock and patterned papers. Embellished with satin ribbon and brads.

Tanda Teaser - Butterfly Blue

The Tanda Teaser this week was set by our Sheila and the theme was - 'Butterfly Blue'. Use the colour blue and a butterfly on your card. For my card I used Beate's weekend sketch for the layout. The background paper is Artylicious Damask Delights and the butterfly image is a PSX stamp. The image is coloured with watercolours and then using an embossing ink pen I have managed to add super sparkle embossing powder just to the butterfly image. Embellished with snaps and satin ribbon.

I have used a Cornish Heritage backgrounder stamped in chocolate Stampin' Up dye ink. the Flower is a Serendipity cling stamp coloured with inks. Embellished with photo corners and satin ribbon.

I am also very honoured to have been featured on the 'Inspirational' blog today with my 'Friends' card! I would just like to say thanks for featuring one of my cards - it is very much appreciated!!

My Time To Craft Challenge - Shiny and Sparkly!

The My Time To Craft Challenge was chosen by Fifi this week and was - 'sparkly'.

For my card I have painted a piece of white card with three different colours of Ecoline inks. Once dry I have added webbing spray and sparkling embossing powder. The bird stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms and is simply stamped and water coloured. Embossing ink has then been added to the entire square and clear super sparkle embossing powder has been heat embossed. I have embellished with silver eyelets, shiny silver thread and gems.

Cuddly Buddly - Local Lads

A quick card I made for a mate using the Cuddly Buddly Local Lads downloads. These images come in handy often! I have added some die cut letters to personalise the card with his name.
The glass has been diamond glazed for added effect. These cards can be quick and easy to make and there are some very cute images available too! This is also my contribution to the Daring Card Makers this week which was - 'It's all in the Game' as the image on my card is enjoying a game of cards with his pint!

Papertake Weekly - Weather with you!

The Papertake Weekly Challenge theme for this week was - 'Weather With You!' I went on the hunt for a rubber stamp suitable for this and found this one which can be suitable for male, female or younger chics!

The image is stamped in Stazon and coloured with Prisma Pencils and Gamsol. I have used some paper piecing for the umbrella - stamping it out again onto one of the pattern papers used on the background and adhering with glue. A couple of eyelets and a matching bow along with some matting and layering. A quick and easy card!

Cute Card Thursday - All Creatures Great and Small

This was a really quick card for a friend of mine who loves cats. It fits nicely in with the Cute Card Thursday Challenge of 'All Creatures Great and Small'. This stamp is a really cute PSX single image stamp and with a bit of masking I have stamped a group of them. They are coloured with chalks and pencils and have been mounted 3D over a base card that has some patterned paper and a charm added.

Di Hickman Template - 19th March

This card was made for the Di Hickman template challenge this week. Always love having a go at Di's templates but this week I couldn't settle with what I had mad - I ended up sending Di three pics - each time I had ripped something else off the card. It just didn't please my eye whenever I looked at it and in the end I gave up! I would have made a different card if time had permitted but I knew I was gonna be overloaded this week! I have used K & Co patterned paper, cuttlebug swiss dots embossing and a stamp from a Crafty Secrets set called Bird Notes. The image has been water coloured with Lyra wax crayons.

It is worth checking the link and all the fab examples from the Design Team!

Tanda Teaser - Va Va VROOM!

The Tanda Teaser theme this week is - 'Va Va VROOM!' It was my turn to set the challenge and as the Grand Prix has started this week I decided to have a theme around that! My card used the Tanda Stamp Racing Set 1. Everything is simply stamped and layered. The car image has been clear embossed so is shiny and mounted 3D.

We would love to have more people join in on and off the Forum - anything can be used it doesn't have to be Tanda or stamping - just anything in your stash! So check the link out and come and join Sheila and myself as we take turns to challenge you!

My Time To Craft Challenge - Quotes and Sayings

The My Time To Craft Challenge this week was set by Lesley and was - 'Quotes and Sayings'. I was itching to use something that I had bought at the NEC last week so I made an aperture card and covered the aperture with a really sheer fabric that is absolutely gorgeous. The stamp set is a Serendipity Cling set called 'Adirondack Chair' using the quote from the set -'Beware what you set your heart upon, For it surely shall be yours'. When I was younger these words puzzled me - it wasn't until I had experienced life a little that the meaning was fully understood! The images have been water coloured and I have added some embossed spots - these were made with the crop-o-dile.

We have three fab new Design Team members on board this week so do check the link above and see their work.

Floral 70th

Another 70th Birthday card request. It must be hard to get hold of cards with 70th on because I get asked for loads! This one is made using a twinkling h20 background paper and an image from the Joanna Sheen Victorian Flowers CD that has had a little glitter added to it. Overall image is very shimmery and sparkly which was on the remit!

Cute Card Thursday - New Beginnings

Another new challenge blog, just up my street too as I am in a 'cute' phase at the moment! The first challenge from Cute Card Thursday was - 'New Beginnings'. My card is a Congratulations card for a new baby girl. Not much to write about it really as it was a quick and simple effort. The stamp is from Art Impressions and I have water coloured the images with Lyra wax water colour crayons. The card also has a little embossing (this top and bottom idea came from a few of US blogs I visit) and some ribbon embellishment.

Tilda & Co Challenge - Hidden Secrets!

Well I am really excited today - this is my first week of being on the Design Team for the Tilda & Co Challenge Blog. I will be on for a couple of months and am really looking forward to the challenges.

The challenge this week was called 'Hidden Secrets'. My card is a 'Card with an Overcoat'. I have popped one of these cards on the blog before and love making them. I cannot take credit for the idea - I have followed the Tutorial on the blog of a very talented lady called Maria.

Above is a picture of the card as it comes out the envelope. I have embossed the overcoat with my crop-o-dile. The papers are K & Co double sided and I have used the lovely image of Tilda showing her petticoats! Tilda has been coloured with water colour and also paper pieced. The overcoat is tied together with satin ribbon.

This is the card opened and stood up to reveal an ordinary card nestling underneath! The insdie of the card has a Happy Birthday greeting along with ribbon and prima embellishments that were previously hidden from view.

Finally a picture of the card open and laid flat to get the detail on the front of the inside card.

Thanks for visiting!

Daring Card Makers - Teen Spirit!

I made this card for the challenge this week on The Daring Cardmakers - 'Teen Spirit'. It wasn't until after I had made the card that I realised this is not exactly what was wanted and my card is too girly. As I probably won't have time to re-do the challenge I have posted it anyway.

The stamps are a Serendipity Cling Set of stamps that I bought on the Joanna Sheen website. Patterned paper is DCWV , embel;lished with primas and sticky backed ribbon.

Arty Girlz - Stars!

This card is for the Arty Girlz Challenge of Stars. I have used some of my new K & Co double sided papers for this card going with a theme of you know who! Also used some new paper lace and some new primas. All part of the stash bought today at the NEC Hobby Craft show. I had a fab day - met a lot of lovely people and spent far too much money! Came home shattered but had to have a play once I had re-charged my batteries a little.

Brads and eyelets!

The challenge from Rainbow Lady today was 'Brads and Eyelets'. I was asked recently, to make a card for a Golden Wedding Anniversary with a Bouquet on it - they wanted it very large and in a box. That is exactly what they got - this card is made from A3 folded in half to make an A4 sized card and I made up this bouquet as a topper. There are gold silk roses in this bouquet along with some white flowers and green leaves. I have wrapped the bouquet in Tissue paper and tied it all up with gold twine. I have used brads down the side of the card holding the charms in place. I used silicone glue to attach the bouquet to the card and a matching box was made where the card sits nestled in tissue paper.

I Love My Garden Frame Card Tutorial Challenge

Another double whammy! The Papertake Weekly Challenge was a 'Frame Card Tutorial Challenge' and the Wednesday Stamper challenge was - 'In My Garden'. The 3D effect of this frame card was very hard for me to capture with a scanner but it was a great technique and I enjoyed this challenge. I have used one of my much loved Tilda stamps along with a Stampin' Up daisy stamp and an Anita text stamp. Images coloured with Copic Markers.

An Oriental Flavour

This is a double whammy card! First the Sunday Stampers challenge was - 'Oriental' and the Tanda Teaser set today by Sheila was - 'Hey Up Me Old China'. I have used images from the Joanna Sheen Oriental Dreams CD and the characters are stamped using a Judkins cube. A very simple card as life got a bit hectic for me today!

My Time To Craft - Tickled Pink!

It was my turn to choose the theme for the My Time To Craft Challenge this week and I decided on a colour challenge - 'Tickled Pink'. For my card I have used a Cornish Heritage Farms Flamingo stamp. I punched a circle out of a piece of scrap card and used this as a template for a setting sun, using a couple of dye ink pads and a cotton wool ball to transfer colour to the template. I then stamped the Flamingo image over the setting sun and added colour to this with Copic pens. Mounted over a couple of layers of pink card, one of which has been embossed. Stitching detail has been added to each layer and I have embellished with pale pink satin ribbon and a pink prima flower. If you like Pink - check the link above and share your art work with us! Wendy -x-

Tilda & Co Challenge - Boy to Man!

The Tilda & Co Challenge this week was - 'Boy to Man'. I have used the Cool Dude Edwin and given him a motorbike - made him for an old Rocker! His Jacket and shoes have been coloured black and clear embossed for a leather look and I have used denim paper for his trousers! For the background I have blown inks around a piece of glossy card stock with a straw.

Daring Card Makers - Take A Break!

This week's Daring Card Maker challenge was called -'Take a Break'. It was Mel's turn to set the dare and she wanted us to use a Tea Bag or Coffee Satchel on our cards! I went with a stamp set that I love from Stampin' Up called Tea Cup and Pansies. The background stamp is also from Stampin' Up and is the Filigree background stamp - stamped in a similar colour ink to the card for a tone on tone look. The image is coloured with Copic Pens.

Pocket Fun Birthday Card

I needed a Birthday Card and decided to go along the route of Rainbow Lady's challenge of - 'Pockets'. I use this stamp set all the time, in fact I used it just the other day with a little frog peeping out over the top (on the blog about two weeks ago for the Green challenge), it is from Stampin' Up. The images have been coloured with Copic Markers. Patterned papers are Basic Grey Infuse.

The Theme Thursday challenge this week was - 'Paris'. Stamps used for this card are a Stampin Up set called Paris in the Spring. All colour on this card is from Lyra water colour wax crayons. Wednesday Stamper - A Pair of Glasses

The Wednesday Stamper challenge this week was Glasses. I wasn't going to do this one this week but as I was making the one and only St Pat's day card that I need I realised my little character had glasses on! The image and background paper is from the Card Toonz CD. I have him sitting on a ribbon that embellishes a piece of Cuttlebug embossing. The Tanda stamp clover leaf has been stamped and clear embossed. I can just about get away with this one as I have used just one rubber stamp on it!!

A Birthday card for a mate to give to a bike mad husband! Backing paper is from the JS Fashion Boutique CD and has been distressed a little. My Time To Craft - Flower Power!

This week's challenge on My Time To Craft was chosen by Kate and is 'Flower Power'. A great challenge and I can't wait to see what you all do for this one!

For my card I decided to use a large bloom. I have removed the plastic centre piece from a silk flower deco and used the largest layer of bloom on my card. I have also cut lengths of matching satin ribbon and laid them on top, securing them to the flower with silicon glue. The centre is a stamped circle greeting and that just finishes the whole thing off and keeps it tidy. The bloom has then been mounted onto a piece of patterned paper that has been inked around the edges.

Another 70th Birthday Card

I was asked for another 70th Birthday card in the week. For this one I turned to a couple of Joanna Sheen CD's for inspiration. The only brief I got was flowers and it had to have '70' on it. I decided to go with the flower for the month of March and tried to incorporate the Birthstone colour into it which is Aquamarine. The backing paper is that lovely satin paper from the new JS Fashion Boutique CD and the image of the daffs comes from the Victorian Flowers CD. Embellished with paper lace, satin ribbon and gems.

Tanda Teaser & Daring Card Makers

It was Sheila's turn to set the Tanda Teaser this week and she came up with a good one - 'All of a Piece'. To make a card using one sheet of paper for all of the elements. The Daring Card Makers challenge was 'I am Woman'. I remembered a card I had made using a technique called Background Pop from one of my Technique Junkies newsletters a good 12 months ago and decided to case it. Something I don't do very often but have a lot of commitments this week - it won't be exactly the same but is pretty close. I have stamped my own patterned paper using Rubbadubbadoo stamps. The dress, hat and wrap are mounted 3D over the background paper so that the image matches the underneath pattern as perfectly as possible.
