Let's Do Lunch!

Today's card share is my DT sketch card for the Di Hickman Template Challenge this week. I bought a set of stamps recently from Joanna Sheen - a 'Sprinkle and Sparkle' set called Rodney Sea Critters. I thought that this image and greeting were very apt! Patterned papers are Sizzlets, embellished with brads, gems, satin ribbon and stickles glitter glue. Check the link to Di Hickman's blog and see the fabulous Design Team creations for this weeks sketch - have a go yourself and leave a comment!

A Teddy in my Pocket!

The Arty Girlz challenge this week was - 'Pockets'. The card I share was made using a Crafty Secrets Sweet Chip Little Girl Outfit that I bought from Joanna Sheen. I have embellished with papers that I got in a stack from an E Bay seller so unfortunately I don't know who they are by. Other embellishments include pink satin ribbon, lace and a little white teddy is peeking out of the pocket. I am also popping this on the Tanda Stamp site where we are currently doing a card challenge called 'Perfect Paisley'.

Tilda & Co Challenge - Baby

The Tilda & Co challenge this week was 'Baby'. Unfortunately I haven't got the stamp of Tilda holding a baby as yet so I used this one with Tilda holding her Teddy. Such a cute image and I bought it as soon as I saw it! Patterned papers are Sizzlets and I have used a paper flower, organza ribbon and an odd safety pin embellishment that I found in my stash! The card has been made using card sketch number 30 from Beate's weekend sketch challenges.

Theme Thursday - Celestial

I decided to have a go at something different for the Theme Thursday Challenge of Celestial. I have made a Floating Image card. This technique is one from a Technique Junkies Newsletter. I have used a template to cut star apertures in my base card and the patterned paper. The image is stamped onto acetate and the insert has been stamped with a text background stamp. Patterned paper is Artylicious, the stamped image is from the Crafty Secrets Cherub set and the text stamp is Rubbadubbadoo.

Daring Card Makers - Foiled Again!

The Daring Card Makers challenge this week was to use Kitchen foil somewhere on your card. My card is made using a technique to make wood grain papers and a stamp set from Serendipity cling available from Joanna Sheen. I have cut three stars on the Cricut and covered them with kitchen foil as embellishments. I have also tied a matching ribbon along the bottom. The card has been made using last week's weekend sketch challenge from Beate.

Black and white with a splash of red!

I was invited to join in with an ATC swap recently - the theme was Black and White with a splash of Red. I made a set of six using images from Joanna Sheen's Hollywood CD and a Tuscan Rose CD. The backgrounds have been created using an Elusive Images Damask stamp.

Nothing else to share today as a visit to the Hairdresser was necessary so that I could actually see where I was going! Not an activity I enjoy and only go when I absolutely need to!

Arty Girlz - Animals

Well the Arty Girlz challenge was very appropriate - I made a couple of quick Birthday cards for a lady and both were for animal cards. The request was a late request and urgent so they had to be quick! The first card above was for a man who is mad about his Rottie - I messed about in Gimp with a picture that was given to me and used a wire netting stamp on the background and around the image. Embellishments for this was a large stud like brad and I tied the layers together with a leather lace.

The second request was for a Leopard - the Leopard has been stamped onto Vellum, layered onto white and green card using brads and then mounted over the base card that I had previously stamped with an ivy stamp. I really wasn't sure that this one worked but the customer liked it at least!

Tilda & Co Challenge - Silver

This week the Tilda & Co Challenge was 'Silver'. Unfortunately the scanner doesn't pick up metallic too well but there is plenty of silver on this card. A silver mirror card decorative corner, silver mirror card behind the beach scene strip, a silver brad in the centre of the Kaleidoscope stamped shells (thought I would give the Kaleidoscope stamping technique a try) and Tilda has silver wings, shoes and dress trim.

Materials:- Magnolia Tilda Stamp, Serendipity shell stamps (both available from Joanna Sheen), Judikins Seashore Cube, Sizzlets patterned paper, Lyra water colour crayons and Versafine black ink pad.

An Egyptian Pharoah

The Wednesday Stamper challenge this week was - 'King'. I decided to go with an Egyptian King/Pharoah for my card. The main image has been foiled - but it isn't showing up as well as I would like on the scan. All the edges have been aged and distressed. The background has been made using colour wash sprays, Egyptian hieroglyphics have been stamped down one side and then the whole piece has been sanded and stained to age the piece. The only embellishments are some printed photo corners.

Materials:- Main image, patterned paper & photo corners from Joanna Sheen Egyptian Adventure CD, Versamark pen, Gold foil sheet, Stickum Powder, Colour wash sprays, distress ink, sandpaper, Judikins Artefacts cube stamp.

Hidden Slider Card

The Daring Card Maker's challenge this week was fun - 'Hide and Seek'. You needed something on your card that was hidden! I had a bit of a play with a Hidden Slider Technique. This is a bit crude and there are a few things that could do with a tidy up but this is my first effort and I am a complete Dunce at following instructions for anything like this! Above is the picture of the card as it is and .......
...this is what is revealed when the slider is pulled up using the ribbon tie. An extra heart pops up from the big one and the message is visible at the top of the card.

Materials used:- Artylicious Damask Delights patterned paper (available from Joanna Sheen or Graphicus), Tanda Stamps Valentine Set 1. Red dye ink, Gold Krylon pen for edging, eyelet and ribbon for pull, Cricut hearts, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Valentine Bee Mine - New stamps from Tanda!

My second post shares two cards with you, made using the new stamp sets from Tanda Stamps. The have just released two Valentine sets that are awesome. One has the more traditional images on it and I have made the card above using these stamps. This is available as a downloadable project on the Tanda Site and as well as the stamps uses Brilliance ink, Glimmer mists and Twinkling H20's - so has a very shimmery finish to it. This is also my second go at having red on my card for the Arty Girlz and Papertake Weekly challenge this week.

The second card has bee n made with a set of stamps called 'Bee Mine' designed by a talented lady called Claire Mackaness. This card is also available as a downloadable project and uses versamark, chalks, permanent black ink and a piece of ribbon to embellish. These stamps are real fun and quirky and will make some great cards. You can check the stamps out on the Tanda link above. More cards made with these stamps shared in the next few days!

Thanks for visiting!

Gothic Arches - Gyspy

I enjoyed making this one even though I only had one suitable image to play with! The Gothic Arches challenge this week was Gypsy - I jotted down a few things that I associated with Romany Gypsies and made an Arch using some of these things. I particularly wanted to use rich earthy colours and music. I also wanted to use butterflies to signify someone that doesn't stay in one place for very long. The paper is from the Artylicious Damask Delights CD. The Music and the Butterfly are from Rubbadubbdoo.

Sunflower and Mulberry Resist

The card I share today was a try at a new technique which was a Mulberry Resist. The stamp is another of my Christmas Pressies - the Serendipity Small Flowers - Sunflower set available from Joanna Sheen. Simply embellished with an orange ribbon.

My little man Benjie is settling in really well and I have just got back from taking both dogs for a bracing walk. Both are now getting some very loud ZZZ's.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tilda & Co Challenge - Numbers

As I have acquired some Tilda Stamps (with some more on the way) I thought I would have a go at the Tilda & Co challenge this week which is 'Numbers'. I haven't a clue who makes the patterned paper as it was just an odd 6 x 6 inch square in my bit box. The image was coloured with a mixture of pens and pencils. Looks like I am on the road to becoming another Tilda addict!

Tilda has arrived and so has Benjie!

Tilda arrived this morning so I put one of the stamps to good used on the Daring Card Makers Challenge - 'Me and My Shadow'. Maker two cards using the same papers and embellishments just re-arrange everything! Patterned papers are DCWV . The Tilda stamps are now availble from Joanna Sheen and what a fabulous collection to choose from!

It was a fun challenge even if a bit rushed - I have had an eventful day with a new addition to the family! A 16 month old Springer Spaniel called Benjie has come to join the mad house and he is gorgeous! I have spent most of the day getting to know him and helping him to settle in as I think he is already on his third or fourth home! We love Springer Spaniels here and he will be a pal for Chloe!

Wednesday Stamper - Gothic Arch

The Wednesday Stamper challenge was to make a Gothic Arch. The background to this arch is made using a technique called Faux Silk, one from the very first Technique Junkies newsletter. The image is one from Cora's blog (a very inspiring lady you should check out her blog) and I have added colour and embellished the image with Hydrangeas from a Serendipity Small Flower stamp set received for Christmas. The same stamp has been used on the Faux Silk background.

Theme Thursday - Quotes

Today's card was made for the Theme Thursday challenge - 'Quotes'. It gave me a chance to play with a new set of stamps from Serendipity Cling that I received for Christmas and a Scrap Magic Template that I ordered from the Joanna Sheen 'Specials' section on the web site. I have never had a go at using these so when they were reduced it was an ideal time to order one to see what I thought. A great way to use of all those scrap pieces of paper and card! The stamped image is water coloured, cut out and mounted 3D over the Scrap Magic piece. The text has been stamped directly onto the water coloured base card.

Paperake Weekly - 'Bit 'a' Bling'

The Papertake Weekly Challenge theme is 'Bit 'a' Bling'! I have started to think and plan some Valentine's Cards and I am sharing a card that is always popular. I make them with various colours, chains and backgrounds. The stamps are Rubbadubbadoo and the heart locket has been Diamond Glazed. I love the words of the text stamp which has been gold embossed directly onto the DL card.
