Halloween ATC's - Experiment!

These ATC's were a bit of an experiment - the backgrounds are made using baby wipes covered in water colour inks and paints, and stuck to card. I have then stamped and drawn onto it and collaged images over the top. Makes the ATC very touchy feely! Need to practice this technique a little more I think.

4 x 4 Friday - Halloween

4 x 4 Friday and another Halloween or Pumpkins challenge! More of the colour wash sprays for this Fat Book page. Stamps are from the Halloween set by Tanda Stamps. The witch has been mounted with 3D foam pads for a bit of dimension. This is my favourite stamp of the whole set and as she is carrying a pumpkin - perfect for this challenge! I think I have only one more Halloween challenge to do!

Wednesday Stamper - Growing Old

The theme for the Wednesday Stamper Challenge this week was 'Growing Old'. I used this challenge as a bit of a fun theme for a 50th Birthday card! Patterned paper is DCWV, a little Cuttlebug embossing which I have coloured and highlighted and a Hilda Ogden Stamp which has no printed details on it, coloured with pens.

Think Monday Think ATC - Halloween

I have played with so many Halloween challenges this year - for this one I decided to get away from the images I have been using and go for something that I find scary - spiders!! This is for the Think Monday Think ATC challenge this week. Water colour sprays were used on the background and the stamps used are from a Stampin Up set. What you can't see from the scan is that the spider's web has been lightly glittered!

Daring Card Makers - Wrap it in Ribbon for Christmas

Today I share my card for this week's Daring Card Maker's Challenge - 'Wrap it in Ribbons for Christmas'! For this card I have use my Joanna Sheen Victorian Christmas CD and a Rubbadubbadoo 'Peace' stamp. The edges of all the papers have beeen embossed with silver sparkle embossing powder as is the word 'Peace'. Silver grey silk organza ribbon has been threaded trough three silver eyelets and tied at the side. I have embellished with a row of Crystal Sticker Pearls also available from the Joanna Sheen web site.

Gothic Arch Challenge - Hands

The Gothic Arches challenge last Sunday was 'Hands'. My card is centred around Palmistry - but has a much deeper meaning for me. You can reach out to others, walk hand in hand with God, some people are healers, others create and inspire - whatever path you choose to take it is all in your hands!

Orange and Black - Trick or Treat and Saturday Stampers

Continuing today with a bit of a spooky theme - these cards are for three different activities on two separate Forums and a blog challenge combined into one! I decided to join in with a 'Trick or Treat' Halloween swap on the Craft Swap Forum. Secondl, this week, I set the card challenge on Tanda Stamps to be 'Orange and Black' to tie in with Halloween but not to limit everyone to Halloween stamps or images! Last but not least the Saturday Stampers challenge is Halloween! The first card uses DCWV patterned papers and a witch image from Tanda Stamps, various spooky brads and a little Boo! tag tied onto a paper clip - my Trick card.

The second card once again uses DCWV patterned papers, a couple of large blooms, a spider brad and a trick or treat tag stuck on with a little pearl. I kept the theme and colours in with Halloween for my Treat card! Each person also has a little mini Halloween bag with a few bits and pieces in!

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Something Spooky!

I needed to make a bit of a creepy Birthday card for a friend for next week and the Papertake Weekly Challenge was for a spooky card! Made using colour wash sprays and a mixture of Tanda Stamps and Stampin' Up. Bit of a fun card and I have made a couple very similar to this before and they went down a treat!

Saturday Stampers - Winter

The theme for Saturday Stampers this week was Winter - this card was made recently for someone who loves the starkness of winter, in particular Winter trees. I always want to add embellishments to a card but this was an exception as the starkness of the card would have gone! Very simply masking a brayering for the background onto glossy card and the trees stamped in black stazon. My perspective was one of those bright sunny winter mornings when the sky is a vivid blue and everything looks so stark in contrast.

Embellished with ribbon and the quill has been attached to the background piece with glue.

Sweet Chips - It's A Boy!

While blog hopping I kept coming across these lovely little outfits on quite a few US blogs. They are from Sweet Chips, are made from chipboard - and are free standing. Well now you can get these little gems from Joanna Sheen and they are fab! I have actually drawn around the original chipboard pieces and made a lighter template to put directly onto a card - the real chipboard I have decorated exactly the same way, cut at the shoulder and am adding pages cut to the shape of the front for babies first photo album, all held together with a book ring on each shoulder and ribbons and fibres. My scanner just won't handle the bulkier items for a picture and I don't have time to take it to pieces as it goes out today!

Their are three packs to chosse from - the boys outfit, a girls outfit and a gorgeous little folding house! The boy and girl outfits are priced at £2.99 - girls outfit pictured below:-

The fabulous little folding house is available at £3.50. They look such fun - I think I am going to decorate one for my grand daughter for Christmas to have on the table full of sweets! Here is the little house:-

A very reasonable price too I think for something like this. I ordered all three and couldn't wait to use the first one for a friend.

Pine Cone Dress

Autumn Fashion using a pine cone stamp from the Joanna Sheen Pine Cone Christmas Fairy set of stamps. A little bit of tweaking and the pine cone stamp makes a cute dress! The little mini hangers are also from the Joanna Sheen shop. I got the idea from a blog somewhere along the line where they were actually using a range of stamps using nature for fashion items and I thought I could do a bit of tweaking with stamps I already have to achieve a similar thing!! I was supposed to be making a Christmas card but failed miserably today and got sidetracked!! One of those days when I needed to use my limited time wisely and nothing went to plan!

Daring Card makers - Circle of Friends

The Daring Card Maker Challenge this week is one to celebrate their year of challenges and is called 'Circle of Friends'. Papers used are DCWV, the image is coloured with Copic markers and the flower has also been coloured with a copic marker so that it matches perfectly. A stampin' Up 'friendship' text stamp has been stamped directly onto the card and three purple gems added for embellishment.

Gothic Arch Challenge - Party Animal!!

I have been pondering over the Gothic Arches challenge and I needed a Birthday card for someone and the two have come together nicely! Stamps used for this card are a Stampin' Up set called Prehistoric Party! The arch has been lightly sprayed with an air gun and the images coloured in with pens. Text is computer generated.

Wednesday Stamper - Children

My card for the Wednesday Stamper Challenge this week - the theme is 'children'. I have used an image and some background paper from the Joanna Sheen Victorian Romance CD and have airbrushed some dark grey and black onto the paper to age it. The only bit of stamping is the Autumn Leaves Flourish behind the image which has been stamped in black Versafine and clear embossed. Embellished with a piece of black lace and a hinge attached with brads.

Papertake Weekly Challenge has a theme for a child's birthday card this week. I have a number of nieces and a couple of grand daughters all into the Princess theme. Daring Card Makers Little Extra - Oh Christmas Tree

The little mid week extra from the Daring card Makers - 'Oh Christmas Tree'. I have just finished this easy project for Tanda Stamps using their Holly Doodle stamp set designed by Sheila Oliver. I have tried to keep the card easy for those who do not have fancy die cutting machines and an arsenal of colouring mediums. The stamps are great to work with.

Faux Chipboard Name Card

This was a card request - I don't often make these for people as they take up a lot of time. The letters are cut out five times in card and one time in paper, all stuck together to make Faux chipboard letters with ribbons or fibres tied to them. I work full time and it usually takes me two mornings to complete these as you are glueing many layers and waiting for everything to dry. Consequently I only charge to cover the cost of the materials and don't take the time factor into consideration so I only do them for close friends. I could make them quicker by glueing one layer flat to the card but it isn't the same! Excuse the image I had bagged and sealed the card before I realised I hadn't scanned it!

Thanks for stopping by!

4 x 4 Friday - Numbers

The theme for the 4 x 4 Friday challenge is 'Numbers'. My work is collaged onto an Ecoline background that has been sprayed with Gold webbing spray and stamped with numbers. To be honest I was using up some of my scrap background pieces for this one.

I also managed a card today but am unable to share it until later in the week as it was the sketch card for the Di Hickman template challenge later this week - using the other half of the Joanna Sheen Primrose Fairy set. As a matter of interest if anyone is ever looking for a place to buy the Collall glue - Joanna Sheen stocks it. I wouldn't be without this glue it is fab stuff. Just ordered some more today and of course some other bits and pieces just fell in the basket too!

Been a bit of a spendthrift this weekend - ordered Bernie Berlin's ATC book from Amazon and some other Art and crafting goodies from various places! I was seriously in need of cheering up what with one thing and another.

Isa's Alhpa Challenge - P for Poppies

A card made recently that is perfect for the Alpha challenges which is up to the letter 'P' this week. My card is called Marbled Poppies and I have used Ecoline inks for the background along with a Jukikins cube. The focal image is the Tall Poppies stamp from A Stamp in the Hand. For this I have used Marvy pens direct to rubber. Embellished with ribbon. I have an idea for another for this week if I have the time to get to it!

Gothic Arch Challenge - Flowers

The Gothic Arch challenge last Sunday was 'Flowers'. I decided to do Primroses and I have used watercolours for the background and the image. The Primrose stamp is from one of the Joanna Sheen Garden Fairy sets. I love these stamps - the floral images stamp beautifully and the stamps are of an excellent quality. Mounted over a piece of text paper that has been distressed.

Saturday Stamper and Playing with Mac!

The weekly card challenge on Tanda Stamps is called 'Roses Grow On You' and the Saturday Stampers challenge is to add Pink Ribbon to your project for Breast Cancer Awareness Month - so this is now a double whammy. I had this new Mackintosh set of stamps from Tanda that I hadn't played with yet. I decided to try something different with it and stamped the background piece using Microglaze then coloured with Niji watercolours and watched the resist image pop through. Embellished with ribbon.

Isa's Alpha Challenges - O for Owl

Late again!! Isa's Alpha Challenges are up to the leter 'O'. I have chosen to do 'O' for Owl! The stamp is a wood mounted stamp but there are no details on the stamp to identify what company it is from. I have water coloured the image using Lyra wax water colour crayons. The immediate background strip is a technique using acetate, double sided sticky plastic, polished pigment powders and a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The card base has been stamped with a background stamp from Stampin' Up. Embellished with gems and gold fibre.

Daring card Makers - Wild Things!

This week's dare from the Daring Card Makers has a wild animal theme. The card I post uses an unmounted unknown Lion head stamp. The image and the background have been coloured using Radiant Pearls. A colour medium I have and don't use as often as I should as they are a delight to work with!

Thanks for looking!

Little Angel or Little Devil?

I wanted to share this with you - this is my little two year old Grand Daughter Morgan. I made this card as a fun entry for an Angel comp recently. I love this image taken at her recent Birthday Party as she has her hair up in a way that makes you think of little devil horns! I also love this quote - 'To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts'. My grand children certainly improve the quality of my day!

She didn't win but I had such fun making it!!

Di Hickman Template Challenge 10th Ocotber

I also share my Di Hickman Template card made for the 10th October card challenge - Cricut shapes used on a background piece made using the Judikins Thin Lines cube stamp.

Saturday Stamper - Same Stamp Two Cards!

Keeping with the Autumn trend and quick and simple for the Saturday Stamper challenge of 'one stamp two cards'. I have stamped this leaf and coloured with paints and glitter, mounting onto some embossed edged handmade paper and mulberry paper. Embellished with star brads and peel off greeting.
This second card is made with the same stamp using shrink plastic - stamped and coloured with ink. I have used some leaf print paper and embellished with gems and peel off greeting.

Both cards extremely quick and simple to make!

Wednesday Stamper - Autumn Colours

My offering for this week's Wednesday Stamper - Autumn Colours. A very simply stamped leaf imaged on a background made using a precious metal technique. Daring Card Makers - Answers on a Postcard!

The Daring Card Makers challenge today was entitled 'Answers on a Postcard'. A bit of a cheat here as I recently did this - I used this postcard stamp to make a couple to take on Holiday as I always forget to buy any! It isn't the exact size though so needs to be mounted onto card. The image has been coloured with pens and paint.

Lemon and Lime

Lemon and Lime was the theme of the Tanda ATC Swap this month and my two ATC's have been made using another of the Elusive Images Damask background stamps. Saturday Stampers - My Little Treasure!

This week's theme for the Saturday Stamper challenge is to feature something that you treasure. Here is my 'Little Treasure'! She is my best friend and loves me unconditionally! I treasure my family and my friends but in case of offending anyone and not having space for all of them I chose to do a card with my special little treasure on it! Chloe is nine and half years old now and getting to be a bit of an old girl and I know I need to treasure every moment with her.

Silky Mucha

I have had a play today with some relatively new stamps from Tanda - Mucha Grils 1 and Mucha Girls 2. For the card I share here I have used an image from each set and coloured them with watercolour crayons and pencils. They have been mounted onto a background of Twinkling H20's, the effect of which does not show up well on this scan, it twinkles and sparkles as the light catches it. I have framed the background piece with decorative photo corners and tied matching satin ribbon near the bottom. Perfect for the Coffee and Cream challenge on Tanda Too!!

Isa's Alphabet Challenge - N for Newborn.

For Isa's Alpha Challenge this week, we are up to the letter 'N'. My card is N for Newborn and I have gone with Christmas once again! Another for the stock pile! Stamps used are Stampin Up matted and layered with a coloured Cuttlebug background piece. The technique for this is called Cuttlebug Smoosh and can be found in the latest Technique Junkies Newsletter. I enjoyed making this background and I will definitely use it again. I finished the card off with a ribbon slide, tied with silver chord and computer generated text in the centre - Newborn King.
