Gothic Arch Challenge - Autumn

The card I share with you today was made for the Gothic Arch Challenge theme of Autumn. I have used a cropped autumn photograph for the background and another of Kim Anderson's images. Words were printed out on the computer and the leaves are from a Stampin' Up set and were simply stamped in black, directly onto the card base in one corner and cut out and mounted over the top of the arch in the other - I was hoping to give it depth.

Wednesday Stamper - Moo cards!

Well I had never heard of Moo Cards but I had a go keeping things simple and following the measurements on the Wednesday Stamper challenge post. Stamps used are Stampin' Up along with an Indian image from a Native American CD onto a brayered background of Adirondack Butterscotch. I found the size particularly daunting to work with, much as I did the Inchies!

Saturday Stamper & DCM - Framed Trees!

A very simply stamped card for this week's Saturday Stamper challenge. Also good for the Daring Card Maker's challenge - 'In The Frame' so another double whammy! Stamps used were Stampin' Up - Lovely As A Tree set. One of the stamps has been stamped directly onto a stippled ink frame in Black Versafine. The coloured tree image was made using Marvy pens direct to rubber and this has then been cut out and mounted at the side of the framed trees. Embellished with decorative fibre.

Isa's Alphabet Challenge - M for Mistletoe!

Isa's Alpha Challenge last week was the letter 'M' - my word is Mistletoe. I have used this challenge to make another Christmas card for my stock pile -my card is made using the new Joanna Sheen Mistletoe Fairy set of stamps.

For the background I have used four colours of Twinkling H20's and once dry I have added some Gold Webbing Spray. I made a text background piece with one of the stamps in the set:- 'Have a Merry Christmas Under the Mistletoe'.

My Mistletoe Fairy is coloured using a mixture of pencils and H20's, a little glitter has been added to her wings and the Mistletoe berries have been clear embossed. Embellished with metallic cord.

Think Monday Think ATC - Smile!

The Think Monday Think ATC theme for this week is 'Smile'! This is my effort - I used my Paper Bag Studio, Little Lou Lou stamp for this one. Simply stamped onto a brayered background with the flowers stamped another three times onto white, blue and purple. Only other embellishment is a gold brad on the flower in the hair!

Gothic Arch Challenge - Gold

For this week's Gothic Arch Challenge I decided to go with a Christmas theme and add another to the stock pile! Background is made using Ecoline inks, bleach and I have drawn wiggly lines down the arch with a Versamark pen and gold embossed. The main Baubles are made using a stamp from the Joanna Sheen Tree Tear Drop Xmas bauble set. One is stamped onto card and coloured and the other two onto shrink plastic and coloured. The large bauble has gold glitter on the stars but this isn't very visible on the scan.

DCM - Charity Begins At Home!

What an interesting dare this was from the Daring Card Makers! To visit your local Charity Shop and make someone else's trash your stash! Off I went with not a clue what I could do!! On the way I thought about needing a card for my Grand daughter who will be 2 years old on Sunday! I wandered around aimlessly and then I spotted something which started the whole idea brewing. They were selling some shoe laces in this particular Charity Shop and I remembered seeing these adorable little lace dollies on cards in the past. I picked up a pair of white shoe laces and wandered over to the children's clothes and picked out a little denim shirt with a black and white checked ruffle down the front and a few Daisies on the collar. It looked like a miniature line dancing shirt! Probably would have sat in the shop forever!

Once at home I managed to put together this little shoe lace dolly using a part of the frill from the shirt for her frock. The rest of the fabric came from bits and pieces of my own that I have cut up for recycling, a quick bow on her head and a face of sorts stitched on!! I popped a couple of Daisies from the collar of the shirt into the top corners. I'm not good at this sort of thing and found it all a bit fiddly to do - probably wouldn't repeat it in a hurry lol!! It was too bulky to scan so I took a very quick pic (not good I'm afraid) before it went into the envelope.

A Host of Golden Daffodils!

The mid week dare on the Daring card Makers is to make a card inspired by the word Golden and a new Challenge Site called Saturday Stampers began this week and the first challenge was to use poetry - whether it be visual or pictorial. I am hoping this fits the bill for both! When I think of the word Golden I see Daffodils, Sunshine and Sunflowers. I chose the Daffodils because when I see them I think of the words of William Wordsworth: -

I Wander'd lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils,
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Thanks for looking!

Daring Card Makers - In A Word!

Ooh I managed one this time!! The theme for the Daring card Makers challenge this week was to make a card with one main word on. I chose to use this Beer - Cheers stamp by Funstamps as I am short of male cards in my card box.. The image is coloured with water colour and pencils and the word 'Cheers' and the glass are clear embossed. The Beer froth has been made fluffy with Liquid Appliqué and the pint glass has been decoupaged by one layer. Patterned paper by DCWV.

Cheers!

Wednesday Stamper - Violet ATC Tryptich

The challenge on Wednesday Stamper this week was to make an ATC Triptych. I had my watercolour pencils out for something else so I made this Violet ATC Triptych using the Joanna Sheen Violet set from the Garden Fairy stamp range. Not tried one of these before and is probably not true in the sense that the centre panel is meant to be the most important - oh well my interpretation anyway!

Think Monday Think ATC - Slidemount

I'm off to look at some of the other challenges I need to do now. I also need to catch up with my blog hopping so please forgive me if I haven't visited for a while.

Cheers!

Gothic Arch Challenge - Moon

The theme for the Gothic Arch Challenge this week was 'Moon'. I had this image on a CD and just had to remember which one!! The background was made using Ecoline inks, stamped over with Autumn Leaves Swirl stamps and used a star and swirly stamp from Stampin' Up. This has been embossed with silver sparkle on the Arch and stamped in versafine Majestic blue on the background card.

As I will be unable to craft now for about a week I have sorted out some posts using photo's from my archives for each day that I am away - so if anyone does come wandering over at least there will be something different to look at!

J is for 'Joy' - Isa's Alphabet challenges

We are back on track with the Alphabet challenges on Isa's blog - 'Scrap and Stamp'. This week is the letter J and the two options are to either use the colour yellow or make a Christmas card. I chose both options for this card along with the popular word Joy. Stamp used is from the new Christmas Fairy range from Joanna Sheen - this one is the Christmas Rose Fairy. Coloured with paints and inks and the background around the Fairy has been created with wax paper.

Morning Has Broken

This week the theme on 4 x 4 Friday is 'Birds'. For my page I have added some Fired Brick Distress ink to a piece of white card and then I have stamped over this with a mesh stamp and some bleach. Silhouette leaves and flowers have been stamped in Black and some have been embossed in Gold. I have also used a music stamp and embossed this in gold detail too. The image is a printed one from a Vintage Birds CD. Another enjoyable challenge!

Knights of Old ATC Swap

This months ATC Swap on the Crafts By Carolyn Forum is 'Knights of Old'. For this swap I had gone the opposite way to what I normally do. If I make mixed media I usually have a stamped background with an printed image on top. This time I played around and have made them with the printed image as background and the stamping on top! Stamps are a mixture of Tanda and Rubbadubbadoo and the castle doors are from a CD I acquired from EBay.

Another task bites the dust! Now onto the next challenge!

Wednesday Stamper - Blue

Well - I have that many project I need to do and so little time to get them done. This week's challenge on the Wednesday Stamper challenge blog is 'Blue' I decided to have a play with one of the many new stamp sets I have. This card is made using the Joanna Sheen Christmas Decorations - Teardrop Snowflake set of stamps. They stamp absolutely brilliantly and the Snowflake text is wonderful. I have used them here with a piece of snowflake Cuttlebug embossing, some paper made using Primary Elements Polished Pigments and a little embossing powder. The embossing powder is detail opaque Midnight Blue - one from the range of EP's from Joanna's shop. The paper has been crumpled up whist the Primary Elements were still wet. It makes gorgeous background paper - it has a lovely sheen to it and I have sprinkled a light coating of silver glitter embossing powder onto it in places too. The baubles have been coloured with inks and Primary Elements and then clear embossed.

Think Monday Think ATC - Metal

The challenge for Think Monday Think ATC this week was Metal. For this ATC I have used a pewter metallic acrylic paint, a metal chain with a zip pull on and an image with some nice shiny chrome bits on it!! I have splattered some black paint onto the background for the oil! When I was a teenager I grew up around bikes and they always seemed to have oil leaks! lol! This is also another double up as I needed two Transport ATC's for the Tanda Stamp monthly ATC swap so my second one for this swap is below.

Happy Crafting!
