I can tick two things off my list this morning - my monthly swaps for the Tanda Stamp ATC Swap and the Wednesday Stamper Open Challenge.
The ATC's were made using the Tanda Stamps Flourishes Set 1 some patterned paper, some mini mezzee paints, images and gems. I have stamped the images using a black acrylic paint dauber.
Now I have to knuckle down to make a couple of cards that I need for tomorrow!

SCS Limited Supplies Challenge - It's not all black and white!
On Friday the challenge on SCS was a limited supplies one. The remit was to stamp in black ink onto white card and pretty it up using card , paper and embellishments but not amy colouring tools. I chose to use a couple of Stampin' Up sets - A Quiet Life and Filigree. Both simply stamped as requested with black ink onto white card. The only thing I have used to lift it is some pink card in layers and a ribbon strip using the punch technique that Tricia Morris on Craft TV Weekly has demonstrated this week. A photo corner and a little paper piercing with my new Cutter Bee Bugs from EK Success pictured below.
These little beauties are great for adding rows of pierced holes for Faux stitching perfectly spaced - such fab little gadgets. One of the bees pierces a single line of holes while the other does a double line.
One of the best gadgets bought in a long time!

Tanda Card Challenge 04 - Ribbons Galore!

This week the Tanda Stamp card challenge is a 'use your stash challenge' called Ribbons Galore. There are so many ways of adding ribbon to a card, different ways of tying it - different places to put it so the challenge is to use up some of you ribbon stash on your card!
My card for this challenge is made using two snowflake stamps from the new Tanda Stamps Christmas Set 6 along with a greeting from the new Christmas Greetings (Small) set. I have used a resist technique for the background piece using Microglaze. Images have been stamped in Teal Blue Stazon. I have embellished with some beads and a silver snowflake and I have tied two different coloured ribbons to the thread. I have passed ribbons through eyelets on the greetings topper.

Daring Card Makers - All Checked Out!
Today's challenge on the Daring Card Makers came from Jane and is entitled 'All Checked Out'. I seem to be in a male orientated card making mood at the moment and I decided to go for the racing black and white check. The checked piece I made myself. I have used two different Stampin' Up sets - At The Races and To The Finish along with an unknown unmounted Burnin' Rubber stamp . The cars have been coloured using Marvy wet looks and embossed with clear embossing powder. The key and spark plug have silver stickles on them and I have attached the key and word tag using my new Paper Tagger from Around The Block. This fab gadget attaches things with the little plastic tag things that clothes price tags are attached with. Just another toy to play with!!
Thanks for looking!

Think Monday Think ATC - Holiday

Spotted this challenge recently Think Monday Think ATC and decided this week to have a go! Stamps used are from the Tanda Stamp Summer Set. Images have just been cut from a magazine so not scanned brilliantly but you can get the fun aspect of it! I have just smudged inks onto the ATC from ink pads direct to paper.

Di Hickman Template Challenge July 25th
While I had my sewing machine out the other day I made a quick sketch card for the Di Hickman Template Challenge this week. A piece of white card embossed with the a Cuttlebug embossing folder, embellished with strips of pink card with Birthday Greetings on and Dunelm fabric flowers. Faux Buttons were sewn into the centre of the flowers and an untidy wavy frame sewn around the piece.

ATC Challenges - CSF and Tanda

I have been busy catching up with weekly ATC challenges. This first one is for the challenge on Craft Swap Forum. Florries Challenge, this week's theme - Summer Flowers. I have used a Tuscan Rose image and the flowers are from a Stampun' Up stamp set. I used to join in with this one regularly but haven't for some time - must put that right.
Then comes last week's challenge on Tanda Stamps Forum and the theme for that was 'Meadow'. My ATC uses the grass background stamp from the Tanda Background set and the Hayfever ad from Adverts Plate Two.
Lastly this week's challenge on the Tanda Stamp Forum and the theme is very appropriately 'Rain'. For this I have used distress inks on the background and flicked some water on it and a pair of football boots from the Football set from Tanda.
Thanks for looking!

Tanda Stamps Transport Set - Part Two
I have been playing with those fab Transport images from Tanda Stamp again. This time I have combined them with some adverts printed from my Tuscan Rose CD and a bit of stitching for a different type of card. The one above uses one of the boat images on the set along with a boat builders ad. Everything stitched together and embellished with black photo corners and photo anchors.
Next I have used the Train image from the set combined with an old American Train ad. Once again stitched together and embellished with a couple of flourish die cuts from a Cuttlebug Die and a punched and tied corner piece.

Tanda Stamps - New Transport Set

I have received the new Transport set through the post today from Tanda Stamps and just had to have a quick play with a couple of the stamps straight away!
For the first card I have used the old motor card image along with the crackle stamp from Backgrounds Set 1. I have used a Lumiere resist technique that I found on Splitcoast on the card before stamping my images on with black Stazon. I have distressed the edges of the card and inked them for an aged feel.
For the second card I have used the Aeroplane, NY, Paris and London stamp from the new Transport set. The Sweden stamp is from the Adverts Plate 3 and the rest of the stamps are from Postage Set 1.
I have more ideas for the rest of the stamps when I have a little more time!
Anna Moore has kindly sent me the Rockin Girl Blogger award which I am proudly displaying at the top of my blog! I am supposed to award it to five more people but every time I visit a blog the logo is already there. Just give me a little time to sort that one out if I can!
Thanks for stopping by.

Daring Card Makers - Pockets of Fun

This week's dare from the Daring Card Makers is called 'Pockets of Fun'. Great dare Lynne - really enjoyed this one.
I have taken a piece of mid blue bazzill card and used a background stamp from a Stampin Up set called Art of Life to give a denim effect. Belt and loops added to the top and stitches drawn on with white gel pen. The pocket is from another Stampin Up set called Pocket Fun and I have added the little red Jeans label to the side I have also tucked a little note and a chewing gum into the pocket for embellishment.
Thanks for looking.

Tanda Stamps - Dot and Stripe Christmas

I have been having a play with Sheila Oliver's Dots and Stripes Christmas set from Tanda Stamps over the last couple of weeks and have a couple of cards to share with you. This set made me think , paper piecing, decoupage and gems. For the card above I have used all three - decoupaging the candle and pine branch and adding gems to the candle. I have a bit of a shadow on the scan as it is quite raised.
For this card I have used the background paper to paper piece the main silver embossed image and I have added gems to the main bauble and corners.
These have been fab stamps to work with and you can find some more examples on Sheila Oliver's blog site which I have a permanent link to at the side.

Hello Anonmymous
I would just like to say a quick hello to the 'Anonymous' comment poster today. Someone has decided to leave critical comments and flavour them with a generous helping of spite! I have published the comment left on yesterday's card so feel free to take a look . This wonderful person has made me realise I may be doing something right after all!! Apparently dislikes my work so much but cannot stay away ha ha!!
Any constructive criticism will be published as long as actual names and links are given with it.
So Mr/Mrs Anonymous if you don't like what you see then don't look! Just remember - all I have to do is press the delete button and it is gone from my blog and forgotten. But hey thanks for looking!

Wednesday Stamper - Buttons (Faux for DCM)
Another double whammy card! The Wednesday Stamper theme of Buttons has been running for the last two weeks and I have just about managed to sneak one in before it changes tomorrow!
For this card I have used a Stampin' Up set called Pattern of Friendship, an unknown unmounted measure stamp and Aspects of Design Buttons stamps. The main images were masked and various green dye inks sponged over the card before adding the rest of the images in olive green Stazon. This is the part that sorts out the mid week dare from the Daring Card Makers to use something Faux on your card. I have used a paper punch to punch out some buttons from a piece of photo patterned paper and I have then stitched them onto the piece with an olive green cotton. They actually look quite real - but much easier to scan as they lie flat!

Tanda Card Challenge 02 - Black and White
This week's Card Challenge on the Tanda Stamps Forum is a colour challenge - Black and White. This is a very simple card made using a cute kitty stamp from Tanda Stamps Cats Set 2. I have stamped the cat simply using a Versafine stamp pad. I have made a piece of card to look like a fence using an old dryish black dye ink pad, a ruler and a black pencil. The kitty has been mounted with paws flat to the fence and head mounted with 3D foam pad. As he looks so playful I have also tangled a piece of black funky fibre around him and under his paws. Embellished with a couple of black brads.

Tanda Stamps -NEW Advert Plate 3

Tanda sent me this Advert Plate Three to have a play with in the the week- so yesterday I did put aside time to have a look at it. The above card has been made using the Cornish Riviera advert stamp and I have also used stamps from the Summertime set. The background and images have been water coloured.
This second card has been made using the Wonder Boat advert stamp - the background card has been coloured using alcohol inks and Marvy metallics and I have cut it into three pieces and popped them through a wave paper paper ribbler. I have also used an anchor stamp and ships wheel from the Pirate Set One. I have added the anchor at the bottom along with a mermaid charm and I cut the ships wheel making an embellishment for the top of the tags and a corner embellishment. Tied with ribbons and a couple of punched 'O's' added for port holes!
There are many more stamps on the set and they would really be fabulous teamed up with the new Travel Set just released! There are two more Advert Plates to choose from so keep an eye out for samples on Tanda Stamps Design Team members blogs Sheila Oliver and Anna Moore. Anna has just joined us on the Design Team and produces some gorgeous work - well worth a visit!

A Double Whammy!

A double whammy challenge card! The Daring Card Makers dare this week is 'Haberdashery' with instructions to raid your sewing basket! Well my sewing supplies are not extensive but I managed to find a safety pin and a few pieces of lace. I also stitched my papers together. The image is from one of my Tuscan Rose CD's and I have stamped some black lines onto the card and backing paper using an Elzybells art stamp.
The second challenge it fits with is my catch up with Isa's alphabet challenges on Scrap and Stamp - this time the letter 'F' for 'Friends'. I went for option two - to use a vintage image.

G is for Girls - a catch up on Isa's challenges
I am playing catch up with Isa's challenges on Scrap and Stamp. This is for the letter 'G' and like many I have chosen to do 'Girls'. I have used a few different Stampin Up sets for this card along with an image from one of my new Tuscan Rose CD's. I have coloured some white card with a dark green ink and overstamped with a Crackle background stamp, leaves from the Art of Life and Definitely Decorative Ferns. The leaves have been highlighted with white pencil. The Flowers I have embellished with are from a two step set and I'm not sure, but I think it is called Cottage Rose. A dymo word strip has been added across the corner.

The little oriental doll image is from a Stampin' Up set called 'Gifts from the Orient' and she is tucked into a corner pocket. Embellishments - dragonfly brad and red eyelet.

DCM Little Extra - Sixties
I have a two in one dare card here! Firstly the DCM little extra dare is the swinging sixties. This is my effort - always think of scooters for the sixties! Secondly the Creative Ideas on Sunday theme was Blue and Brown. The rubber stamp used is from Stampin' Up and the image is coloured with pencils. For the background I have coloured a piece of white card with blue ink and over stamped with a Judikins cube stamp - I think it's called Thin Lines cube. A strip of cuttlebug embossing, some brads and some circles cut from DCWV card stock are the only embellishments.

This is a commission card for a friend at work - a Silver Wedding card using one of the Tanda Stamp Retro Women stamps. This is just perfect for Anniversary cards. The heart and numbers are cut from the Cricut George and basic shape cartridge, a silver metallic heart with a dark grey shadow cut. I have punched a couple of holes, added eyelets and tied with ribbon before attaching to the card base. The music notes are Quickutz die cuts and I have used silver peel-offs for the greeting.

Isa's Challenge - H is for Honey!
I haven't kept up with these challenges for the last couple of weeks and I was determined to get this week's in! This week on Scrap and Stamp it is the letter H - I chose to have the theme of Honey and I went for option 2 to add a piece of metal. I used two sets of Stampin' Up sets - Bees and Blossoms and Definitely Decorative Daisy.
Firstly I coloured a piece of white card with a yellow Ecoline ink and then stamped over with a honeycomb stamp in a similar colour - tone on tone. Then added a few stampings in Adirondack terracotta for depth. The Daisies are stamped directly over this using Adirondack Terracotta and Sepia Versafine. Bees have been stamped in black versafine. I have used the same inks to colour the tag and I have added the word Honey with a Dymo strip. Tied to a piece of gold metallic honeycomb with ribbon and a gold 'made for you' charm has been added to the ribbon. The tag and honeycomb are mounted with 3D foam pads.
I am going to see if I can catch up with the ones I have missed over the next couple of weeks!

Tanda Stamps - Holly Doodles!
Well they arrived, the first set of Sheila's stamps and I had a quick play with the Holly Doodle Set today! This is one of the new Christmas sets from Tanda Stamps - artwork by Sheila Oliver aka 'Manicstamper!' Sheila has been working on card samples too so check out her blog for some fab examples! This card is a very simple one - various Holly Doodles embossed in Gold with the berries coloured on the topper, layered and embellished with gold brads and a Seasons Greetings sentiment.
Another simple card - stamped in Olive Green Stazon and coloured with pencils. A hole has been punched through and fibres and ribbons have been tied to the tags. Mounted with 3D foam pads onto a dark green stripe DCWV patterned paper matted onto metallic gold card stock. Embellished with eyelets and peel-offs.
Lastly a card decorated with some DCWV Christmas papers, three little squares stamped with various Holly Doodles with the berries coloured in with pencil. Each square has had holes punched, eyelets added, ribbon loosely threaded through and mounted with 3D foam pads. A stamped greeting is layered onto red and gold card stock and mounted with 3D foam pads. I have enjoyed playing with the first of Sheila's stamp sets and have made a start on Christmas cards!! I am always a last minute girl and usually groan very loudly just at the thought of making cards for the festive season!

This is a two in one challenge! Firstly a new weekly card challenge has started over on the Tanda Stamp Forum and this week it is an Inspire Me challenge.

I have been inspired by the colours and used the Tanda Stamp butterfly background stamp along with one of the single butterfly stamps. Embellished with some cream ribbon held in place with a bronze decorative brad and a piece of bronze netting cuttlebug die cut.
This is also my piece for the Creative Idea on Sunday blog spot and this week it was Butterflies.

DCM - Cappaccino Text!
This week's dare from the Daring Card Makers is to use TEXT on your card. I have this substantial sized background stamp of an unknown make, that I haven't used before, so I decided to go with that. Stamped onto a piece of card coloured with Ecoline inks in Versafine Sepia. The edges have been roughed up and torn. The ladies having coffee is a Rubbadubbadoo stamp with the blah blah words cut out of it! There is a strip of embossed cream card in the background to break up the browns a bit. Embellished with a couple of gold brads only.

21st For a Hairdresser
This is a commission card for a friend at work - a 21st birthday card for a Hairdresser. The whole thing turned out to be quite a funky retro card mainly because I chose to use an image from the Tanda Stamp Retro Women Set One.
Patterned paper is DCWV and I have added a layer of Cuttlebug embossing. I have stamped the image onto a scalloped circle and edged with a yellow chalk ink. This has been layered onto a pink scalloped circle that I have punched holes in and embellished with silver eyelets, This in turn has been mounted onto a large fabric flower I have added a yellow ribbon to the background piece and tied a 21st tag plus a silver key charm and a pair of scissors onto this with silver cord. I hope she likes Retro!

Wednesday Stamper - Hats

The Wednesday Stamper theme this week is 'Hats'. I have quite a lot of Rubbadubbadoo stamps and this is one of my favourites in that stash. An elegantly hatted lady. The lady has been stamped onto white card and all the skin tone areas have been coloured with pencil. I have then stamped the image two more times - once onto dark green and once onto light green card. These images have been embossed using StamponInn Spring Leaves embossing powder and I have then cut the dress from the dark green image and the hat and parasol from the light green card, sticking them over the original stamping and adding a matching green bow to the back of the dress. She has been mounted with 3D foam pads over a background simply stamped with a Stampin Up 'Fine Lace' background stamp and a Rubbadubbadoo script stamp using an Adirondack Bottle ink pad. I have added two strips of card embellished with lace and using a Versamark pen I have drawn lines along the edges and embossed with the same Spring Leaves embossing powder.
Once again I am going to try to get a digital image of this and replace it as the full effect of the embossing on the dress is lost with a scan.
