A Name Frame Card

At last - the lead has been located!! A name frame card for my friend. Letters are cut on the cricut four times and stuck together for chipboard like pieces. Final layer is cut from patterned paper. Ribbons have been tied to the letters and gems have been added. All mounted onto a background of patterned papers, a bloom to go and blooms from Dunelm.

Cheers!

Gentle Giraffe ATC's

Well that's one job I can tick off my list! Two ATC's for a swap theme entitled 'Gentle Giraffe' on the CBC Forum. I have used the same Giraffe stamp for both by Tanda Stamps, along with a scene from a Judikins cube. Some giraffe skin paper, embossed pearlised piece using Cuttlebug mesh embossing folder, photo corner, gem, eyelets and a handmade bow tie.

I have managed to make my friend a name frame Birthday Card as well - just waiting to sort out the leads to upload from my camera as they seem to have gone walk about!

I also joined a new Forum today called 'Just Bex' - a lot of familiar faces already there!! Pop along and have a look! Looks like it could be fun!

Brayergirl's Colour Challenge #1

Today I have joined in with Brayergirl's Colour Challenge on Stamp Galaxy. The first colour challenge was Red, Green and White. My card is made using an unknown unmounted rose, Stampin Up crackle stamp and a set of Starflower Dreams tapestry stamps. I have stamped onto pieces of card previously coloured with Ecoline inks 657 and 334. The rose has been stamped in Black versafine, coloured with the same Ecoline inks and a second layer has been added with foam pads.. The Starflower stamps have been stamped in distress ink pads in Peeled Paint and Fired Brick along with stampin up spots in Real Red and Glorious Green.

I enjoyed this and the colour challenge changes today so I got it in just in time. You can check out Kristy's work by looking here Brayergirl's Book of Banter I have long admired her work and use of colour.

Daring Card Makers Template Challenge

This weeks challenge from the Daring Card Makers was a template challenge. I made this card today - took me nearly all day in between napping!! I have used a small flower stamp from Tanda Stamps on an Ecoline bakcground. The main stamp the Little Conductor, has been coloured with prisma pencils and gamsol, is an unmounted stamp and other than that I have no information where it came from. I have embossed a piece of vellum with the Textile embossing folder and tied some matching pale blue ribbon around the whole piece.

Another enjoyable dare!

A card for my Dad another Taurean!

Today I have made a card for my Dad's Birthday coming up shortly. I have kept things simple as I am still not up to sitting for long periods. I have chosen to follow the Create a Card Template on the Crafts By Carolyn Forum. Paper is from making Memories, Stamp is the bull from the Tanda Stamp Zodiac Inchie set, Textured card has been achieved by embossing a piece of pearlised copper card with the Tiny Mosaic Cuttlebug embossing folder and the letters are cut using the Cricut. Now I just have to make another for the boys to send!

I have also been tagged by a few of you for seven pieces of random info about myself, so here goes.

1) I am terrified of spiders.

2) I have three beautiful grand children.

3) I am married to my soul mate!

4) My favourite colour is any shade of blue.

5) I used to be in an Amateur Dramatic group on stage and behind the scenes.

6) I met Jimmy Saville when I was 8 years old.

7) I only learnt to drive when I was 40!

I have checked around on a few blogs and see that most have already been tagged by now so if you are reading this and haven't then please take up the tag challenge!

Cricut and Double dare

I have been up off and on today - still get waves of dizziness and feel like I may pass out - there are some really bad viruses doing the rounds at the moment! The only thing I was able to do today was to have a brief play with the Cricut - what a wonderful little chappie he is!! I put this together very quickly for the Daring Card Makers mid week dare to use the primary colours of Red, Blue and Yellow. Not up to much I know but at least I have made a start!

Gorgeous Grand Children!

I have managed to get up and sit here for at least half an hour - have read all the get well wishes left on the blog and would like to thank everyone for their kindness. I missed my first blog day yesterday! I just couldn't muster up the strength and my Son was not around!! Today I am sharing a picture just received of two of my lovely Grand Children - Shannon and Connor. This will brighten the blog - it certainly cheers me up!!

I have seem to have a nasty virus and that has given me a sinus/ear infection. It seemed to want to attack every gland and joint in my body, give me extreme dizziness and balance problems and threw in a constantly high fever just for good measure! I have only been out of bed for a short while now and I feel like I need to sleep! My cricut arrived on Monday and is still in the box - can you believe it? I can't seem to muster up the strength or enthusiasm even for that. Something to look forward to though!

I see that I have been tagged and I will see to this as soon as!

Serendipity

My mum is still unwell - I have posted a picture of a card she made quite a while ago. She says the technique used is called Serendipity and is a very good way to use up all you bits and pieces from your scrap bag.

I am not as good at taking the pics as she is!

I know she must be feeling quite rough - she ordered a Cricut machine last week, she has saved for ages for this and it arrived today and she has not been well enough to open the box!

Another little girls card

I made this card a couple of days ago - I wrote it up and saved it as a draft copy. I have just managed to get up long enough to press the publish button. It was a very long night - and every time I try to get out of bed I feel like I am gonna pass out. This is a real humdinger! Once I am able to be up longer I will get up to date with checking out everyone's cards on the DCM challenge and the Wednesday Stamper, I love to see what everyone has made.

My card is a very a very simply stamped card that has been coloured with Ecoline inks. The stamp is stamp Oasis and the greeting is Hero Arts. Mounted onto the background piece with 3D foam pads. Only embellishment is a pink ribbon tied around the tree. This is Mia's second card - I always make one from the boys and one from us!!

DCM - Minnie and Felt

I have posted this quite early today - unfortunately I feel quite poorly. My temperature is raging, my body feels like it's been kicked by a mule and my ears and sinuses are on fire. I think I am going back to bed!

This week's dare from the Daring Card Makers was set by Gillian (you need to check her site out 'cos her work is fabulous!) - the dare was to use felt on a card in some way. I haven't made anything like this for ages!! I hauled out my embroidery machine and luckily found some white felt. I embroidered Minnie, framed her in a scalloped stitch frame and also embroidered the name of my little niece 'Mia' who's Birthday is coming up. I cut the felt down around the name and framed that by using my Making Memories Tag Maker. The background piece is dry embossing - the Cuttlebug Heart Blocks folder has been embossed onto Pink pearlescent card and I have drawn stitches in on a couple of the hearts with a white gel pen. The Name tag has been mounted over some knotted gingham ribbon.

Thanks Gillian - I gave my machine a much needed airing!

Seriously Grunge!

The Wednesday Stamper theme for this week is 'Grunge'. Something I have never tried before. I have made plenty of slightly grungy pieces but nothing really full on!! I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and probably went over the top in my enthusiasm! I made two cards - the first one above uses Gesso, Adirondack Ink pads in Ginger and Stream, Versafine Black. Stamps are PaperArtsy in the main - the small swirls are Stampin Up.

The second card uses Gesso, Adirondack ink pads in Butterscotch and Terracotta, Versafine Black and Versacolor White. Stamps are once again PaperArtsy in the main and Stampin Up. The flower is a grunged up 'Blooms to Go'.

I have enjoyed the challenge and will venture down this road again - hopefully with a little more restraint!

Enjoy your day

Tea Anyone??

This card has been made for the Di Hickman Template Challenge April #3. This is very unusual for me - no stamping in sight! I have recently sorted out my craft space and found a few bits and pieces I had forgotten all about - as you do!! Some of the things I found have been accumulated from swaps with other people on various Forums, so I'm afraid I have no idea of suppliers details. The background paper was from a book of papers by the Crafters Paper Libraby that my Mum gave me in my Xmas box, the blooms are the cheap 35 pence jobbies from Dunelm that I have taken to bits. I had an odd little tea-pot button that I acquired form a button swap, some dome letters, a teacup rub-on, purple gems and I punched some small flowers from white card.

If you haven't had a look at the Di Hickman Template challenges - have a nose on her blog!! There are also weekly scrap book lay out templates for anyone more into Scrapbooking than card making.

Home Sweet Home

Mid week dare from the Daring Card Makers is a New Home card. For my card I have chosen to use Ecoline inks in 411, 311, 226, 231, 259, 601, 656 and 657. Stamps are Rubbadubbadoo flowers, PaperArtsy Tortoise and words, Tanda stamp flower corner and unknown unmounted bird and flower pots.

Have you dared yet??

Divine Swirls

This is the other card I made using one of the Cuttlebug embossing folders. For this one I have used the folder called 'Divine Swirls'. I have embossed onto thick white card, painted the card in a light green and then I have distressed the piece using a darker green chalk ink pad. The image is another from Stampin Up - a tulip image from the 'Early Spring' set. I have added colour with inks. The Birthday greeting is a Hero Arts stamp. Embellished with gems and red organza ribbon. This card should be at its destination by now - if not the lady in question will get a sneak preview if she visits the blog!

I took delivery of another three this morning - not many left to collect!!

Cuttelbug Embossing

I am bowled over by the large Cuttlebug Embossing folders at the moment. Absoloutely fab for quick cards with a textured feel to them. I am sharing a card today using the Script embossing folder and I have embossed onto a turquoise blue Pearlescent card which I have lightly sanded to take the colour off the script area. The dragonfly square is a Stampin Up stamp from the 'Nature's Wonders' set. It has been stamped using Adirondack Stream and I have added colour with pencils. The central dragonfly has been decoupaged, the wings glittered and layered onto green and white card. The only embellishments are three small gems.

I am really playing with these folders, painting them, distressing them and using them just as they are. I have another card to share using the Divine Swirls but I need to wait until it has been received!

Enjoy your day - the weather is wonderful again!

Daring Card Makers - A late St. Pat's

The Festival I decided to celebrate for this week's dare from the Daring Card Makers is St Patrick's Day, although a little late! We have a relative that has not long move to Ireland and there are some Irish connections from way back on my husbands side so good practice I think!

I have used a Tanda Stamp leaf stamp stamped in Peeled Paint distress ink onto a piece of card I have coloured with various green inks. The image is from the Lisa Vollrath Two Ten site - a set of free images collected on the run up to St. Patrick's Day. The scan is dismal - probably due to the fact that I have given the little girl a couple of decoupaged layers. Corners embellished with shrink plastic clover leaves.

Another enjoyable dare!

Three Times Over

Another ongoing challenge on the Crafts By Carolyn Forum - 'Three Times Over' - make a card with the same image stamped at least three times.

For this one I wanted to play with some new embossing powders I purchased for the Joanna Sheen on-line shop. They are new in and are available in a range of beautiful colours and finishes. I have used a Peanut Butter, Orange Marmalade and Tequila Sunrise embossing powder.

I chose to use a technique called Abstract Embossing for the flowers - details of this technique are available from the Technique Junkies site along with many others (subscription based).

Additional materials - Stamps are from a Stampin Up set and I have used Ecoline inks 226, 236, 311 and 416, Organza ribbon, Gold embossing powder and an unknown little bee stamp.

Di Hickman Template Challenge April #2

I have joined the sketch girls on the Di Hickman card template challenges and for this week's template I have made some background paper using the good old Shaving Foam Technique. The instructions for making background paper with shaving foam are available in a number of places on the web. The inks I have used in the shaving foam are Posh Impressions Inkabilities in Sail Boat Blue and Blue. I have used the paper as background and also stamped the Dress stamp from Stampin Up 'Haute Couture' set directly onto it using a Teal Blue Stazon ink pad. The coat hanger has been glittered with Silver Stickles. The bloom is a 2inch bloom from 'Blooms To Go' and the Best Wishes greeting is a Whisper word stamp.

Another great template and some lovely cards to see by clicking the link to the Di Hickman blog site.

Double Dare - Funky Flower

The midweek dare for the Daring Card Makers is a simple recipe:- make a card using 5 circles, 3 squares and 1 flower. This is my effort made using Ecoline inks which I am only just beginning to experiment with but if you want to see some fab Ecoline technique instructions and some seriously talented work then you need to visit this blog:- Stampingmathilda - this lady is inspirational.

Stamps used are from Technique Tuseday 'Loves me, Loves me not'. Stamped with black Versafine ink onto card painted with Ecoline inks 259 plus 640 and highlighted with white gel pen. Letters are a Rubbadubbadoo Alphabet stamp set and the little bee is an unknown unmounted stamp.

I have only just bought these new Technique Tuesday stamps and it was good to have a play with them for this dare. Thanks ladies!

My day was good yesterday - saw the grandchildren and gave them their Easter Eggs. Once all the visiting was out the way we did a bit of late shopping and hubby took me out for a meal. Today is back to reality and that four lettered sware word 'work'! Never mind another break to look forward to in May!

CPS #9 - Delight

Today I am sharing a card I made for the Card Positioning Systems template challenge 9. If I see colour combos that I particularly like I make a note of them. This colour combination was in the Craft Stamper, Colour Me Crafty article for May and I really liked the bright fresh look you could achieve with it.

I have used a wonderful stamp set from Stampin Up called 'Paint Prints' along with Stampin Up stampin spots in Only Orange and Ballet Blue and an Impress Vermilion ink pad. I have first used a cotton ball to lightly dab the inks randomly onto a white piece of card. I have then stamped the two flower images in each of the colours and the same with the stamen dots. The shadow stamp in the set has been stamped on a separate strip and the word stamp 'delight' has been selectively inked and stamped. This strip was attached with blue brads.I have stamped three flowers onto white card, cutting them out and mounting them with 3D foam pads down the side of the card.

Another enjoyable template! Check the CPS link to view some great card examples.

Create a Card Challenge - CBC

Two posts in one day - I must be on a roll!! I made this for the Create a Card - fondly being called the CAC Challenge on the Crafts By Carolyn Forum. Sue is doing a grand job of running this and the recipe that we have to follow for the first card was:-

0 - Blooms
1 - Feather
2 - Brads
3 - Gems
4 - Patterned Papers

I heard an echoed cry of what?? No blooms??

The majority of the papers are making Memories and one unknown. The Peacock is a Tanda Stamps from the India Set. The Happy Birthday is a Purple Sky greeting. The peacock has been gold embossed and coloured with inks.

Good fun and some great cards to check out.

Zodiac Inchies

Today I have strayed into the world of 'Inchies' for the first time! I have seen some beautiful examples of these tiny little works of art and could achieve nothing like it!! I don't know how people manage to get so much detail on such a tiny canvas.

The stamps are from Tanda Stamps and were released last weekend. I have painted a piece of card first with shades of yellow, red and orange Ecoline inks and cut my squares. The images are simply stamped and I have added words, gems and glitter in places. I am not sure about venturing down this road again but the stamps themselves will be extremely versatile - great for making card backgrounds and adding to other images on ATC's - and I think perhaps the latter is the smallest canvas I like to work with!

Di Hickam - April Templat #1

I made this for Wednesday's challenge from Di Hickman. This template was very pleasing to the eye and I enjoyed this one! I am going to have to put this filigree stamp away, I want to use it on everything! Once again it is there in the centre - Stampin Up Filigree stamped in Versamark onto a piece of card I have painted with Twinkling H20's and embossed with 'Stamp On Inn' Green Leaves embossing powder. The 'T is for Thanks' stamp is from the Stampin Up 'Around The Block' set and the flower is a 'Blooms To Go' in pale green. Some great cards to view for this one!

DCM - Cubist Card

The Daring Card Maker group had a fab challenge this week - set by Rhi entitled 'Art Attack. To make a card inspired by a piece or style of Art. I looked at the links and was influenced by the 'Cubist' link that the site provided for inspiration. My card Technique is another from the Technique Junkies group. One thing the scanner doesn't pick up is that I have glazed the camera lens with Diamond Glaze.

When I made the card I was thinking about the 'Big Brother' type lives we are all living in some way, along with the way we are watched and pre-judged rightly or wrongly by others, hence the eye in the camera lens - so my card is called 'Big Brother'.

It was an enjoyable exercise Rhi - thank you!

Wednesday Stamper - Envelope Art

Wednesday Stamper has set an Envelope Challenge this week. First time I ever contemplated decorating an envelope to within an inch of it's life! I certainly enjoyed this one! Stamp - Large Poppies from 'Stamp in the Hand', in resist and stamped in distress inks onto a crumpled envelope. Ranger Distress inks in Peeled Paint and Fired Brick sponged onto a slightly damp envelope. Some gold embossing down one edge and a couple of postage art stamps in the corners, completely edged with a lace border. It's a good job no one can see the back though!!

Thanks for the challenge!

Happy Easter

I would just like to thank anyone who visits the blog and wish them a Happy Easter. Today I am sharing an Easter card with you and for you. I like to remember what Easter is really about so I wanted my card to convey that message.

I would also like to take the opportunity to clarify something. I have never claimed any technique used on the blog as my own and am open about finding techniques and sites on the net in the main. I take inspiration from other peoples blogs, Forums, Magazines, Books and techniques that are freely written up. However once I have picked up my stamps and inks, using whatever technique I choose to put my card together - it is my work and I like to think I can claim credit for what I have made.

This background piece is one of those lovely misty, silky backgrounds you can create using H20's and I have used the colours Irish Mist, Green Tea and Iridescent Green. The inspiration for this background has come from a Technique Junkies Newsletter as does a good deal of my inspiration/techniques - check the link for detials. The word Faith has been stamped in Stazon. The cross has been stamped with a Versafine ink, clear embossed and coloured with Irish Mist, Green Tea, Sunburst and Goldust Twinkling H20's. For embellishment I have used a yellow Organza ribbon with a silver cross charm on it.

Yesterday was a great day. We went to Evesham and Worcester. I had a good look around the Worcester Cathedral - a wonderful building. Saw the Easter project that the children had been working on. Evesham is such a lovely place too. I think I'm glad we went yesterday before all the Easter Traffic was around on the roads!

Enjoy your Easter.

CPS 8 - If friends were floweres ...

I have managed to make a card for the CPS Template number 8 - don't like to miss any!! Again I have decided against using any particular technique - just played around with some stuff I found whilst tidying my crafty bits away the other day.

The paper is from a Making Memories Pad - Boho Chic. A pink piece which I have over stamped with that wonderfully huge filigree stamp in white and a paisley patterned piece (wouldn't you know!!). I have embossed around the edges of that piece with white detail embossing powder, added a couple of the Dunelm blooms, embellished with buttons and photo corners. The centre piece is a great sentiment - I love using this one - 'If friends were flowers ........ I'd pick you' and it is stamped and embossed in gold detail. Another simple one!

My spirits are lifting thanks to my husband who wasn't impressed at what had been said! He is going to cheer me up by taking me out somewhere for the day. I am trying to enjoy a well earned break after all. No you are safe Sheila, we are going in the opposite direction today!!

Thank you for visiting and all the personal thoughts I have received from some of you yesterday and today.

Warm wishes

Double Dare - Vintage

The Daring Card Makers double dare this week was to make a Vintage card. I'm not naturally any good with Vintage but I had a go - no special techniques used just stamping and colouring with inks.

I think if I remember rightly the paper was K & Co but don't quote me on that one. I have over stamped with a Filigree background stamp from Stampin up in Pink and also stamped a little in Versamark down the side and gold embossed. I have then taken some brown ink and aged around the edges - also using a paper distresser on the edges. The middle strip is a piece of light green Bazzil card Stock that I have given a fancy edge to using an X Cut punch, adding ribbon and some cream crocheted edging. The picture frame has been gold embossed onto cream card and coloured with a dark Brown Ecoline ink. The Stamp is an Oxford Impressions stamp from Soul of the Rose set and has been stamped in brown with a little colour added in places.

After all my misgivings I enjoyed making this one. It lifted my spirits which are very down today. Yesterday I learnt that I inadvertently upset someone - this upset me greatly as this was not my intention at all and what was said has in turn saddened me and knocked the stuffing out of me somewhat.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.

More Oriental ATC's

Another job in the halfway stage finished - a couple of ATC's for a swap. Made using Tanda Stamps Far East Set 3, Judikins Artifacts Cube, Black Versafine Ink, Adirondack Butterscotch Ink and Stampin Up Spots in Regal Rose, Rose Red and Real Red. Basic stamping, masking and adding colour from ink pads with sponges.

Fantastic Foliage

Well - I managed to get my crafting space tidied - I knew I had a Dining Room Table somewhere!! It took me from about 2.30pm right up until7.00 pm. Now everything looks spick and span and I can't find a thing!!

Hubby arrived home tonight after being away since Saturday - lovely to have him back! I don't know who missed him the most me or the dog - and she has got a definite miff on - mostly ignoring him, how dare he go and leave her!

The only thing I have had time to knock up today were a couple of ATC's for a swap over on the Crafts By Carolyn Forum called Fantastic Foliage. How lucky I just received the new set of Tanda Leaf stamps. Extrememly basic - chalk ink pads direct to paper, some surgical spirits sprayed on and simple stamping and embossing.

I have a couple of other bits that I started but I think I tidied my mojo away somewhere at the same time as everything else so I will attempt to finish these off and post later today.

Warm wishes

Beautiful Butterflies

The third new set form Tanda Stamps - Butterflies. Lovely strong images - love them. For this card I played with my Lumiere paints. I have taken two pieces of watercolour paper and cut them both to the same size. Squeezed puddles of Lumiere Paints onto one piece, popped the second piece over the top and smacked them around a bit using a plastic card on the back. Peel the papers apart and you have two backgrounds - I just touched one up in places with a paint brush to soften it. There are numerous instructions available using all manner of paint and ink for this technique. Once dry I have taken the music stamp from Tanda's Background set and stamped bits of it in versamark down the right hand side and gold embossed. The strip on the top was a piece of white card coloured with Ecoline inks. I haven covered this with a piece of dry wall tape. To prepare the drywall tape - I first stick it to a strip of spare card and paint with the purple Lumiere paint - while this is still wet I lightly sprinkled some gold glitter and gold embossing powder over the strip. Use a heat gun to dry the paint and melt the embossing powder. Peel this carefully off the card and you dry wall tape will have retained some of the paint etc and will be all sparkly in the light. I attached this to the Ecoline strip and layered onto a dark lilac coloured card. The butterflies have been stamped in versafine black ink onto watercolour paper, cut out and coloured with the Ecoline inks, once dry a versamark ink pad and clear embossing powder has been used to give them a shine. Before adding the butterflies with 3D foam padsI have added some gold thread stitches to the card.

An spin off from preparing the dry wall tape is the piece of card you stuck it to for painting and embossing. This is fab - it is textured from where the tape was stuck and is very usable. I have included a picture of the piece I was left with after making the card above.

The next card is so easy to make - it is a grid technique. Butterfly images from the same Tanda Stamp set are stamped all over the card. Then lines are drawn at one inch intervals to form a grid (without putting the line through the images). The images have been coloured along in various colours of Ecoline ink. A few doodles have been added in some of the other squares. Embellished with an alphabet square and some fibres.

I'm off to sign up for a computer course this morning that work is running for free!! I made the trip to Fosse Park yesterday and bought some more plastic bins so I am determined to have a bit of a tidy in my crafting space when I get back!

Enjoy your day

Paisley Passion

I just can't get away from those Pink Paisley trousers from the 70's!! I'm gonna try real hard to do paisley in a colour other than bright pink!

This Paisley Stamp is adorable - really big. It is from one of the other new Tanda Stamp sets - loads of different designs and sizes in this set. I think this big one has just become one of my favourite stamps!

The background started off as plain white card. I coloured the card with a bright pink Ecoline ink and once dry stamped the biggest Paisley stamp in the set all over in Black Versafine and embossed this with detail clear embossing powder. I did one image at a time as the Versafine dries very quickly - I used it as it is brilliant for the detail. I then removed the colour from inside the paisley with an aquapainter filled with bleach. I went over the images once and let the bleach work - so I have varying shades of pale pink to completely white. The main embellishment image has been stamped out four times onto a thick white card. One of the images has been embossed as before and painted with the same Ecoline ink. I have then just bleached out parts of the image and left the majority pink. I have cut out the four images and stuck then together finishing with my painted one on the top. This is now a nice thick chunky embellishement. The technique is one I heard about reading quite a few posts from Cricut owners who are cutting numerous shapes the same size, sticking them together and sanding the edges. I punched a hole with my crop-a-dile and tied a couple of ribbons to the piece before mounting onto a black and white layered piece.

The main embellishment is very dimensional. Something I will try again with letters, numbers or other interesting shapes.

This card was made for one of the Di Hickman Templates - No. 7 form last Wednesday. I have finally managed to get those Pink Paisley images out of my head!! I have used two more of the stamps form the new Tanda Stamp set for this card. Very simple stamping - the background is a piece of teal coloured card with the paisley image repeatedly stamped in dark blue ink. I have then sanded the card in two directions to give it a fabric grain and I have also sanded the edges. I have seen this technique written up in a couple of places and in magazines. I have layered a piece of dark blue and white card and added a strip of dry wall tape over the top. I have then stamped another paisley image onto three white pieces of card using inks to match the blue and the teal, stippled some of the ink in the corners with a very stiff brush, attached blue gems in different positions on each piece before mounting with foam pads over the strip. For an embellishment I have tied two pieces of matching organza ribbon together and added to the strip.

Now what shall I play with!!

How do you like to add colour?

The Wednesday Stamper challenge for this week was 'Do you have a favourite way of colouring your rubber stamp images or backgrounds? Or do you like to colour a photograph? We’re anxious to seeing your favourite colouring!

I just love colour and play with many different inks, paints, pencils, sprays, glitter and papers. I will use anything I can get my hands on and have a play!! I find backgrounds are easier to do than images so I decided to tackle the image side of things this week. I have chosen to use watercolour paint, Acrylic paint and Ecoline ink on this card. This Stamps Happen image is lightly water coloured giving a softly coloured image. I have re-stamped the tree area, cut it out and painted this one with acrylic paint and mounted the tree with foam pads over the top of the original. The contrasting strip is coloured with Ecoline ink and is a stronger, sharper colour. I love mixing mediums and colour density - probably a totally wrong thing to do but that is me!! The stamped image made me think of a Quaker scene so the strip and the photo corners mounted at angles was to represent what immediately came to mind when I looked at the image - beautiful hand stitched quilts. Not everyone would interpret the image that way of course - that is the beauty of crafting - we all see things with a different eye. Painted differently it could be a very vintage card.

Yesterdays retail therapy was enjoyable - a new pair of trousers and a new top, my masking fluid and a couple of magazines!

Today I am having a very lazy Sunday - roast dinner with all the trimmings - some TV or I may even find a book I haven't read, major chill out time!

Have a great Sunday.
